Those figure of the day comparisons are interesting. I knew the new retro line figures aren't directly from the original moulds, but it's interesting to see how close they are. I can't wait for the Empire ones to drop.

Combines with additional set means you have to buy 2 of them to make the full thing.
So $100 for some plastic wireframe, essentially.

Wave 1 is Star Wars
Wave 2 is Empire Strikes Back
Is a Retro wave 3 happening and what do you think it might be ;-) ?

There will only be 6 slots, if it follows the pattern. They won't waste one on Him.

Interesting though. Hasbro do a retro wave not realising it'll be so popular, so it gets reissued and they decide to do a second wave which will drop at the point the 40th line reaches Empire, so they tie the retro line into that. Jedi won't get 40th anniversary figures for a few years yet, so if the retro line maintains momentum and gets a third wave next year, do they jump ahead and do Jedi, or go back and fill in with other figures from the first two films keeping the Jedi figures for another dual release like this time.

Who knows. They have still sold like hotcakes in my local Asdaland, even during Lockdown. A case rarely lasts more than a day. It's a long time since I've observed a toy line shift so quickly and so consistently. Naturally, I can't extrapolate too much from sales in one small area but I guess they are popular. This has been since late last year so it can't be just the usual collectors or scalpers scooping them up.
Yesterday, two fresh cases were on the shelf. Today, I nipped in for milk and there was only a Han and a Leia left.

It's encouraging. I'd love to see a wave a year for a while. I don't think they'd hold doing Jedi figures until 2023 though. I would like to see the rest of the original twelve at some point.

A wave a year is fine for me. I enjoy the novelty. I wouldn't want the output to get to silly levels.

Got the Black Series "The Child" today - it is _tiny_, and seems a bit cheeky to sell it for the price of the 6" figures it's in scale with.

I slipped an Imperial Probe Droid in with my Greasepit order because I have such fond memories of the original toy as a child. Man this is fantastic looking. Big figure. Absolutely need a Hoth Han Solo to blast this now.

No, it comes with his little cup, that little ball from the end of the control stick, and the frog thing he chases in that one episode.
I would say he could be the smallest 6" scaled figure they'll ever do, but I understand a set of porgs is in the works.

Last time that was released it came with the Luke in the box pictures. That old set goes for quite a bit, so the fact this Wampa is $30 is pretty cool.

Very tempted by that Wampa. The original (?) Wampa was one of my earliest Star Wars toys, acquired in Plymouth in the summer of 1983, after we’d spent a wet holiday day in the cinema watching Return of the Jedi for the first time, at what I think was my first visit to the cinema. Yes, very tempting.

Impulse buy on a 'The Child' figure in Asdaland. I don't keep up with SW toys much so I couldn't tell you which version it is. Not in scale with standard SW action fgures. It's a big chunky action figure with plenty of heft. It's taller than a TF deluxe and much bulkier. Sure, much of it is a brick (no moving legs under that coat) but the head and arms move and the sculpting is very good. Looks a lot like the show character. The eyes appear very expressive. Quite a neat desk-top toy.
