DON'T be afraid of The IKEA.
You must remember- YOU are in control. YOU, AND YOU ALONE.
Goddamnit just walk around and chill the heck out!
BUT DON'T FORGET-
Just because Ikea provides you with Storage Solutions, it doesn't mean you have to sleep with it!

Saw a fresh case of wave 2 Retro in Asdaland this morning. Nice to see them in the wild.

There was a fan first live stream today for Star Wars that indicated the next Haslab product will be another SW one coming in September.
Also, Walmart computer listings show Retro Wave 3 for next year - seven new figures but no details as the names are all coded.

The stream showed a new 3.75 playset - a corridor from the Tantive IV. Modular like the carbon chamber so you can build loads together. That's exactly what I want for my six inchers! I'm so buying the wrong scale.

That sounds great. My Retro figures could go in there.
What could the next 7 be?

Looks like this: and they lock together: The listings for the retro figures are all codenamed by types of rock, but it's strange there are seven instead of six. Maybe no game next year.

Ok, I have a retro Vader and Leia. They could go in that. I have an old R2 in a box somewhere. I have 3 Retro Stormtroopers.
So all I would need are a few Rebel troopers and a 3PO to fill it out.
No. No, Ralph, no!
Stick to your one Retro wave a year for your SW fix!

If this was six inch I would have done too because this is exactly the scene I started out buying black series to recreate. But my figures won't fit it. Probably better that way, if I was doing vintage series instead I'd be trying to buy falcons and AT-ATs and all sorts. The fact I'm restricted to a landspeeder and a snowspeeder is probably a good thing.

Came across the documentary film 'Plastic Galaxy: The Story of Star Wars Toys'. Far superior to the awful 'Toys who made Us'. Toy designers from Kenner are given time to talk properly. Fans are allowed to come across as average folk who enjoy their hobby rather than as figures of fun.
Worth a look if you have Amazon Prime.

I'm going to guess that it's going to be an update of the original Star Destroyer playset.

Also meant to say, in Smyths yesterday I finally saw some of the "Mission Fleet" series in the flesh for the first time. I had been hoping to find the Mandalorian with Child pack (because of course), but alas they didn't have him. That was probably for the best though - seeing them in the flesh I'm not that impressed.
They seem to be the replacement for the non-Black Series 3 3/4" line, since it seems that kids just don't want action figures like that these days. (Or they just didn't sell because the Force Link gimmick was bobbins... but that's another rant.) I'm guessing that downsizing the figures makes it easier and more cost-effective to have vehicles packed with action features, which is fair enough. And the styling is reminscent of the Imaginext line, which just seems to keep powering on, so I can see why they've gone in that direction. But... it's just not for me. Maybe it'll sell with kids. Time will tell.
I did, however, hear one small child exclaim "It's the Madalorian!" (when looking at another range), so Star Wars isn't completely dead for kids, at least...

Right. Erm...
So that's credit as in plastic credit chip replica, but also paint job based on artwork used in the show credits? Bit oversaturated for my tastes.

What an odd idea for a repaint scheme! I must have at least one!
I've been eyeing up the Mandalorian Heavy Infantry figure anyway, and he looks pretty good here.
Was going to get a Cara Dune figure for my daughter as well (kids do still like Star Wars toys, Llama!) as she likes the character, but the actress who plays her has been a bit... disappointing... on social media lately

I don't think she's explicitly supported Trump (though you will often see people claim she does), but she's been very anti-BLM protests, anti-Coronavirus measures, makes fun of people putting pronouns in their bio, etc.
Very disappointing, I quite liked her character.
EDIT: this was in response to a question from Ralph, which seems to have disappeared in the meantime!

Glad to hear that kids do actually like Star Wars. I guess that Hasbro were just a bit rubbish with what they decided to actually market for the sequel trilogy. Oh well. And yeah, I was all in for getting a Cara Dune figure. And then... that.

I have to admit, I don't know how much it's some unintentional influence from me. She sees I have lots of toys, and she does seem to be more into toys than most of her friends.
And although she loved The Last Jedi when we watched it together, she hasn't expressed any interest in toys of those characters, she's far and away more interested in Rebels and The Mandalorian (and to a lesser extent, Solo), so I don't think the sequel trilogy landed well with kids at all. Maybe Hasbro made a wise move there.

While the sequel trilogy had some fun stuff and generally rock solid performances across the board, narratively it never really had a reason to exist. It's retroactively made the prequel trilogy look much more distinctive and cohesive, not a sentence I ever thought I would type.
The cartoons have a distinctive look and feel to them. The sequel trilogy was mostly a reheat of the original trilogy. Not a bad reheat as such but a reheat. It's just not as memorable, other than Rey and Finn.
