With realistic detail including an opening cockpit, functioning landing gear, separating wings, and projectile launcher
Projectile launcher!?
How is this £133 when the larger scale snowspeeder was only £90?

What projectile launchers do x-wings have?
The snowspeeder needed a firing tow line.

How this, especially the figure, never got made at the time is beyond me Probably for the same reason that that bomber from The Last Jedi never got released (it has an obvious action feature and even LOOKS like a toy), and why they just didn't bother with Rise of Skywalker at all. Although I have no idea what that reason is, other than just madness.

What projectile launchers do x-wings have? The snowspeeder needed a firing tow line. X-Wings have those proton torpedo launchers in the main body of the fighter. I don't recall them being used in Rogue One though.

I don't see a those being the launchers on the toy though. Maybe (from where the trigger seems to be) it's to launch an R2 unit out of it's socket?

The launcher is concealed on the underside of the nose iirc

I always thought they were the two silos on the side. Red Leader and Luke fire two each at the Death Star, right?
Unless you mean the toy.

Yeah, my memory is it's different on the model The first release of this X-Wing mould had the launcher under the cockpit www.rebelscum.com/potf2fxxwing.aspwww.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?image=/potf2/POTF2xwingfxbottom.jpgThe electronics, missile launcher and built in figures were gutted for it's later release but that gave us our first usable droid socket X-Wing www.rebelscum.com/sagaxwing.aspThe droid socket lets us play "Put the robot in, take the robot out" with our R2 unit/astromech collection. I have a few. LOVE that toy and it's in the "won't sell" category This was used for the subsequent releases - www.rebelscum.com/TLCvehXwingWedge.asp - but there was a later retool that made the nose removable for packaging. No launcher. There's another in a set with a Darth Vader tie - I can remember finding that in TKMaxx Brum - This was used for it's most recent release during Rise of the Skywalkers - annoyingly I can't find photos to check if the launcher returned or it's just my head confusing it with the original POTF2 Power FX version

Good lord. This is the 8th use of a 23 year old mould and it fits just as well with figures from then as it does new ones?
That's either great for consistency or bloody boring. We may have twenty years of CHUG figures that have a dozen different styles, but at least that means some variety.

Good lord. This is the 8th use of a 23 year old mould and it fits just as well with figures from then as it does new ones? Better. The original had the figures moulded in and was ****ing useless. First modern SW toy I skipped. One you can use figures with is still nearly 20 years old though!

Hey, the Force Link toys had electronics in them. Kind of. And they were shite.
The Force Awakens Millenium Falcon has loads of electronics - it makes hyperspace noises and the noises change as you move the ship around. It's great. (It also has a massive Nerf cannon that pops out of the front, which isn't strictly-speaking screen-accurate, but is good for scaring unsuspecting house guests.) But it does occur to me that that was a few years ago now. And back in a time when Star Wars toys in this scale were produced as... you know... toys. For kids to play with.

As some toylines have shifted more towards the collector fanbase, play features have decreased. A shame.
