Hey bud, you should perhaps spinoff the toy posts and give it a thread of its own. Potentially, but two pony threads is a dark path I am not sure we want to follow! It'll be two dark paths instead

FiM is probably about my favorite show, ATM. Might even top Doctor Who. Sonic Rainboom is the best episode, and Rarity is the Best Pony evar, dahling!
I *really* want a twopack of Mach Kick and Polarclaw. Polarclaw in a glittery blue translucent plastic as Ursa Major, and Mach Kick in any pony-ish deco, with his maximal symbol as a cutiemark.

Absolutely mad. The first half of the second episode is just one big fight! They seemed to turn up the syrup to compensate but I can deal with the schmaltz if it gets me a massive free-for-all between the six regulars and an army of demonic shapeshifters that look like the Equestria equivalent of the Cult of Unicron At one point Pinkie Pie was actually using Twilight as a magical gatling gun. It was like "Dora the Explorer on the Road to Wrestlemania" or something. -Nick

I have NO idea how they got Hasbro agree anything that scary!

I think those were the two best episodes to date! With all be big "Wedding in Canterlot" hubbub hasbro and Hub have been drumming up, I seriously wasn't expecting this to be so heavily action oriented, and have a genuine villain! ESPECIALLY one who kicked CELESTIA'S butt!
Though, I kept expecting Twilee to go to Luna for help, especially when no one else would believe her.

Though, I kept expecting Twilee to go to Luna for help, especially when no one else would believe her. Well, to be fair she thought she could sort it out by confronting Cadence directly, there wasn't really any time / need at that point to go find someone else. Nice they actually remembered Luna existed though! Also, the song in the first episode ends slightly off-key, a technique that is called a 'deceptive cadence'. According to the composer, that was on purpose. Flippin 'eck.

Well, this is the first time Luna has appeared without her being part of the plot. That's exactly why I expected Tri to go to her for help. I was just expecting her to be a plot point, sometime. The two places I thought she was going to become apart of the story, is Twilight going to her for help when no one believed that Cadance was up to something, or when everyone was cornered by shifters just as they were about to get to the elements.
That's a neat funfact about the song!

I don't think I mentioned this before... Toys'r'us now has an MLP end-cap, and that means a big honkin' MLP banner to go over the top of the bay. On the sides we have Applejack and Pinkie Pie in their bridesmaids outfits. Out front? Two ponies I didn't recognise. A big lad with blue hair and a red "dress uniform" jacket and his carnation pink bride. Shining Armour and Cadence. An interesting choice given that the toy line is still on wave 1 and there haven't even been test shots of these characters yet.

Well, yeah. Those are the groom and bride for the big season finale, "Royal Wedding." Hasbro and the Hub have both been making a big deal out of it. Last year Target had a theme exclusive to them, and Hasbro put out a couple Princess Luna toys for it. There's a big set coming out in july or august, "Castle Wedding:" it comes with Shining Armor (Twilights BBBFF, Big Brother Best Friend Forever), and Princess Cadance, as well as a palace wedding playset.

Aye. New episodes began today. Damn them for making me now want to collect the pointless translucent glitterpainted third series of blindpack ponies. Because now they make sense.

Nice use of Princess Luna in the latest episode! Probably the best use of her since the pilot.

I was an episode behind. I found the first few eps of season 3 had lost some of the magic (no pun intended) of previous years. Glad to say the show is well and truly back on form! Magic Duel is one of the best episodes for a good while and this week's was pretty special too. Scootaloo finally makes it to the spotlight!

I agree that it's started a little slow. I enjoyed the Crystal Pony two parter well enough (Felt like it was pretty rushed and the villain didn't feel as threatening as Nightmare Moon, Discord, or the Queen did, because of it), as it was great to see Spike save the day.
But the Pinkie Pie episode, and the Bully episode both fell a bit flat.
Funny thing about the Trixie ep... earlier that week, I was looking at my Trixie doll, and thought to myself "I'm *really* surprised she was a one off, and hasn't been back." Low and behold, the next episode, there she was! lol
And this week's episode felt very much like it belonged in the first season.

Hasbro forces MLP to jump the shark with the season finale, but my god, what difference a talented creative team can make with questionable orders.
The series finale is a musical in which Twilight incinerates herself. I can't stop watching.

Well, it does make sense as a "final" episode of MLP:FIM. I figured Twilight was going to wind up in some form like this eventually. Just... at the end.
Hang on. 26 episodes of season 1. 26 episodes of season 2. 13 episodes of season 3. That's 65- the same as TF:Prime and enough for syndication. They're not knocking it on the head too, are they?

Some of the creative team (But not Faust herself, that I've heard), say that this was their plan for Twilight from episode one. Not Hasbro mandate.
Also, Hasbro's cutting back production for everything. Every series has been dropped to a handful of episodes. Budgetary issues. Don't think the Hub is working out as well for them as they'd hoped.
For the episode- Sorta feel a little cheated. Not sure why, though. It didn't feel too compressed (Like as though it originally was intended to be a two parter). Can't really find any true complaints. Everything makes sense when you realize the target audiance are six year old girls (The whole becoming a princess). I guess my only real beef (Aside from no rarity specific episodes in this waaaay too short season) is Twilight becoming an Alicorn. Don't mind the princess part, since I equate that as being a sorceress/wizard/whatever.
