I hope you've stored them well. I'm seeing evidence that several of mine have not enjoyed their sojourn in the loft..... the cold does not agree with them as we well know from the Spider Man vs Zoids comic.
The only one I can attest to so far is the Deathsaurer, who seems to have survived his incarceration very well, with his appetite for destruction unquenched. One upper segment if his tail is a little loose and prone to falling out, but it was like that to begin with.
Zoidzilla I liked I think because he vaguely connected to Trypticon. He was never a stand in, but there was a kind of link that I liked. He is the one that comes to mind when I think of the Zoids I had, although I'm sure I had a large red one of equivalent size with a long neck that I can't find a picture of on the wiki. I'm confused by that.
The probability is you're thinking of Mammoth The Destroyer, a Red European recolour of a Japanese Zoid
Not dead perse. Merely...changed. The old-style motorised snap together kits are mostly gone, but there have been poseable high-detail action figure style things, and I believe some high-detail traditional model kits. This looks closer in style to the former, only with lights and sound effects. I'm curious to know who the manufacturer is, because Tomy has mostly been licensing the Zoids stuff out rather than making it in house for a while.
I'm actually quite pleased to see this, it is the sort of thing I assumed would have eventually happened in the original Masterpiece line, if that hadn't taken a sharp right to focus only on Transformers after they did ExKaiser.
I'm not entirely sure. My previous Zoids Sources have sort of dried up over the period I was mostly off the grid. (Lesson folks, cultivate your contacts or you'll end up crossing them off your character sheet. It certainly looks like it. Further investigation is mandated.
Irritating blue-skinned know-it-all appears loath to talk. I am not currently authorising enhanced interrogation methods. My researches as to what the target of the investigation is are still ongoing and somewhat unproductive so far.
But I've learned a lot about the upcoming Shield Liger and Sabre Tiger though, and they are looking quite spiffy display pieces. Doubt I'll be able to afford them this year, but any new Zoids is good news.
