I can definately see myself buying these up at half the price. Maybe when they're on sale.

Kre-o is the only new TF stock any shop around Ames has had in the last month. I saw them the other day. If anybody can't wait I can still grab some and bring them back with me on Saturday.

i have got kre-o sets i thought they were great but the kreons are very poor quality well done hasbro making things out of cheaper plastic and making them more expensive to buy, all so you can selfishly get more money for yourselves. shame on you quality of a poundland transformer: 2/10 quality of a hasbro transformer these days: 5/10 quality of a hasbro transformer up to 2004: 8/10 thats my opinion (i really hate hasbro now they are a really crap company)

Size has gone down, quality has gone rock bottom and yet price has increased so much. No other toy companies have gone the same way, it is absolutely baffling. All I can think of is they are using the movie to cynically squeeze every last pound of profit out of the line at the cost of quality.

iwell done hasbro making things out of cheaper plastic and making them more expensive to buy, all so you can selfishly get more money for yourselves. shame on you Making money is why Hasbro exist though. Their function is to make profit for their shareholders. The thing that will make them change strategies is if it proves to have a negative effect on their profits, so if you don't like the quality of what they are producing then don't buy it. If enough people do the same that it affects their sales figures then they will have to make decisions about what to do differently. In the end it comes down to voting with ones wallet. Karl

All I can think of is they are using the movie to cynically squeeze every last pound of profit out of the line at the cost of quality. I was thinking about this the other day. Is it just my imagination or have Hasbro generally produced poorer/simpler figures for the movie lines than the classics/support lines? I don't mean I don't like the designs, but that especially with DOTM they are smaller and simpler yet the Generations that preceded them were generally larger and almost insanely complex in some cases. The Prime toys seem to be back up in complexity if not size at the end of the year so is it possible Hasbro are trying to maximise profits from movie toys because the movie will sell them while the classics support line which is a little more collector focussed sells on the toys themselves.

I don't mind lack of complexity, most of the ROTF figures were TOO complex, especially that sodding Leader Prime. Frankly if an adult cannot do it, what chance does a small child.

I don't even mean in terms of transformation, just the types of joints and connectors used on the DOTM toys looks simpler and cheaper to make than what has come before also they seem to be built from fewer parts.

I was tempted by the TRU promo but between CB Doctor Who and the odd bit of LEGO, my budget is pretty much sewn up for these kind of things. I do desire the Kreons mightily though.

Feel a bit bad for those who paid a small fortune for Matrix Prime after Botcon, though I wish I had cashed in now that Who Prime is in hand.
Really cant believe that the TF comic didn't get one of these for issue one though.

It makes perfect sense to me: Hasbro's promoting the range to potential new customers, who are in the right target market (by age) and are likely to be customers of similar products (Character Building). Giving Kreons away with the Transformers comic is, to a certain extent, a waste of marketing spend because Transformers readers are already customers.
The Botcon Prime was on my buying list for Auto Assembly; now it seems that it was a good thing there were none there.

True but with it being an issue one and a new subline, the Kreo might have brought new toy fans back to the comic and introduced the comic readers to a Kreo which they might not have tried yet as its so new.
