I going to look at #235 to match up the art.

Now the series feels like its up to full speed.
If theres one thing wrong or missing it's that this is the issue that warranted one of the old UK team on art duties. Absolutely nothing against Guidos art which is fantastic and I know we have issue 0 coming up, but it was just missing that perfect nostalgia hit.

I know what you mean. Still stonking stuff though.
I am stupidly excited about the next issue with the Senior, Deldo and Anderson. Actually, I am more excited about new Delbo pages than any of the other artistic returns in this series so far. I think it's because everyone else has done stuff officially or for fan stuff since Marvel ended, but I never expected Delbo to return in any capacity! And whether his art is to folk's taste or not he did draw 24 issues of Marvel US TF: more than anyone else. So his return, even if it's just for five pages, just feels right more than anything else.

According to the Furmanator's blog, #0 has gone to a second printing! Jings. There must be more disciples of Delbo that I had assumed. Or maybe people are just really excited to see Senior back on interiors. Or possibly newer fans being interested because Roche and Coller are doing some pages. Who knows.

This is very true, but when that is the case usually the comic company put out an obviously transparent press release to create 'buzz', but I only know about this because the writer mentioned it as an aside in a blog entry.

This can only be down to the Draw of the Delbo.

So I am trying to collect all the covers for this series. I see that #0 has a 'GiantRobotComics.Com' exclusive cover. Fair enough. Looking at their website though, can anyone see how to order it? Am I missing something? I want to give them money! giantrobotcomics.com/default.html-Ralph

Enjoyed #0. Great art, nostalgia abounds, some novel ideas and some good writing if still clunky dia/monologues. Enjoyed very much. Was almost reluctant to turn the pages as that would mean another page towards the end plus I was enjoying the experience of seeing new art work from some of my favourite TF artists. Nick's stuff is fantastic too and nice to see him draw those characters in an official medium at last. Great stuff all round. {Spoiler}And as I was discussing with Andu earlier don't be surprised if there is an announcement of a spin off series (i.e. Regeneration 2) for after #100. All the pieces are in play for an epic story of galactic empire etc unless Furman intends to rush a wrap up with only six issues to go.

Yep, and I can't see any on Ebay. I can't find an Ebay store for them either. FFS. Why so difficult? How the heck can people buy this damned thing???
I know it will annoy me if I end up with a full set of covers for this series minus this Giant Robot Comics one. If anyone can help me out, please let me know! Their website doesn't help!

I've sent an email asking. I don't know if I want the cover or not to be honest, but it does annoy me that this can get made but the AA one last year couldn't.
Anyway, that was fun, but I'm increasingly sad that its going to end very shortly. 20 issues sounded a lot 15 months ago.
Great seeing those artists producing new work. I laughed when I got to Nicks pages though, his style caught me by surprise in the marvel comic setting.

Just got issue zero. Enjoyed the art, but didn't rate the script, either by IDW or Marvel TF standards.
(Fortunately, also got some volumes of Classic G.I. Joe to read at the same time - the stories that came before the ones that were printed as Action Force in TFUK. Fantastic reads.)

And I got a reply.
A little pricey for me I think. Only worth getting if I plan on getting the full set which means picking up about half the Wildman covers and one missing Senior one.
The email is shop@giantrobotcomics.com if anyone wants to order. With 1200 issues I doubt they'll run out quickly.

It does seem expensive for domestic canadian postage. I dread to think the international cost, but I may still find out

What?!?!?! That's an obvious ripoff. I wonder how much of that they pocket themselves (unless it is insured/signed-for postage which can be loads)

It does seem a lot compared to say Royal Mail Special Delivery for a tracked large letter, but Canada is a big place and royal mail remains (at least till privatisation) relatively cheap compared to many other services. Who knows.

Agree with Martin on the script; great to see Delbo produce such fine work after so long but doing so in a story which reminds me how little I like what happened with Earth in RG1.
Have a feeling there's so much to wrap up in the final 5 issues that it's going to feel a bit cramped, especially in contrast to the first arc. I don't want to complain too much though as I vastly prefer comics where stuff actually happens in a single issue.

Any chance of getting the one you want for reasonable postage off eBay at some point, Ralph? Agree with Martin on the script; great to see Delbo produce such fine work after so long but doing so in a story which reminds me how little I like what happened with Earth in RG1. Buster is the human hero of The Transformers and a Matrix-bearer (and more successful/useful in the role than Rodimus Prime at that) and cannot be killed by Decepticons. I did like the concepts in the Boltax segment - the mind-merging, erasing of memories, etc. - though that segment had the weakest art (the "beauty" of Cybertron didn''t come across here as well as in "The Flames of Boltax"), and I thought Boltax was a mountain with that gold dude just a decoy. Maybe that's what he became after this and/or because of this? There were some nice 'alien robot' concepts throughout this issue and was nice to see something semi-original done in terms of introducing Rodimus Prime into the mix.
Will be interesting to see what happens when Rodimus (with Matrix) meets Optimus (without Matrix). And the more I look at it the more I think the Matrix Monster has a strong resemblance to the Leige Maximo...

Buster, noooooooooo! Damn you, Ratbat.
Delbo's art was the strongest of the issue. Looked great! Bit of a shame Senior was mostly wasted re-drawing a story we already have art by him on from back in the day.

Yep, the Delbo stuff was absolutely marvelous. Lovely to see him on some pages - it literally wouldn't have been the same without him, he is the one "old hand" they had to re-recruit for this caper at some stage. Actually, although it was the Delbo pages I was most looking forward to I was still surprised by how good they looked.
I liked Senior's art, although I do know what you mean about it being a shame that they didn't match him up with a story segment that he was doing anew rather than reinterpreting.
I loved some of the throwaway concepts as well, like the "torrent memories", the idea that Transformers can have memories of events they weren't there for plays nicely to the idea of them as machines, and opens up a fascinating line of thought about what memory means in a species where it can operate like that.
I am also intriqued by some of what is being done with the Matrix/Matrices here. I think that there is more to this than merely a way to transition Rodimus' portrayal somehow.

The Delbo sequences were tip top, I enjoyed Geoff's pages. I agree that Jeff Anderson's pages were not quite what I had hoped. He was always a slightly stiffer artist, but they seemed awkward in their poses and layouts and I agree with Martin that the Underbase issues from back in the day where superior.
Still one of my favourite issues of the series so far.
Looking forward to seeing how Rodimus takes centre stage, great way to give us a Rodimus.
