Ebay, alas, has long since strayed from it's USP as a place for ordinary folk to clear out unwanted stuff and get a few pennies back for fun. Ebay is not interested in the little people anyway. They want it to be an online store like any other with businesses on it, not everyday folk. One of the reasons why I long since gave up selling stuff on their platform. I mostly donate stuff to charity now but on the odd occasions when I need to sell something I just do it directly within the fan community.

Thing is their current ad campaign is trying to get folks to use ebay to sell unwanted things.

Not sure what's going on there, Jim. I'm a private seller and I can do a thousand listings a month. Perhaps it's something to do with how frequently you're active as a seller? Not sure if that's a factor.

Not sure if that's a factor. That would make more sense! Nothing on eBay itself tells me that though - when I'm told I can't list any more as my three items are used up there's a link for help but it just takes me to a page advertising registering as a business seller... Think I'll have to contact customer support. Even if true it's pretty crappy given I've 100% positive feedback over hundreds of transactions as a seller, and more as a buyer, that just because I took a few years off I get restricted!

Blimey be careful with that! It's worth a small fortune! The wiki lists the strips, but it would be nice to know if there's anything else in them. I suspect not for the later ones because no one in editorial would really have cared enough. Well, seeing as I'm sorting mine out the now I'll take a look! The one with Decepticon Dambusters in it has the A to Z of Ratchet and Ravage. The one with Wrath of Guardian etc has the A to Z of Jazz, Jetfire and Powermaster Prime in it. The summer special with Grudge Match has Slag, Skywarp, Ratbat and Rampage in there. The last one with the Carnivac saga has A to Z's of Defensor, Devastator, Bombshell and Bonecrusher (and a full page advert for Frosties and Gladiators!) Don't think any of the others have anything else. The random nature of the A to Z's suggests it was just using whatever was easily available. Jonathan

Do they look like they're just reprints of the old ones? Nothing updated?

I wonder how much the CG2 originals would go for ? I could certainly do with a small bar of Dairy Milk chocolate at the moment...

At the risk of being That Guy, doesn't look like anyone's actually bought or bid on any of those old newsletters at that price

It would certainly be way too easy to just authentically photocopy these anyway, if they were of any value. They are a curiosity at most.

This is honestly making me wonder about raiding my parents' loft, digging out some old letters from TMUK alumni like James Roberts, and becoming a billionaire! Probably best to check with the sender first if you do, especially if they might have been children at the time. Very shaky ground selling/distributing anything containing people's personal information without their consent these days - and these newsletters on sale no doubt contain people's personal contact info, etc., unless that's all been somehow redacted. Martin Apologies Martin, I was being sarcastic. As much as I love the old zines and value my letters archive, I think the whole enterprise of selling old fanzines/correspondence for crazy money is pretty repugnant given that they were created amongst friends on an entirely non-profit basis. Hope that has reassured you

Nah, they're ~£10 each toys. Go the YJ route for Japanese stuff, not US ebay.

But it's not often you see a complete set of these together. I've nabbed the photos!

Is the bulk of the value just the lucky draw toy? Or is there other rare stuff in there?
