the dinosaur is significantly more accurate than the takara one. They reversed what takara did. Accurate dinosaur, cartoon robot.... It actually looks like a dinosaur. It doesn't make me vomit in my mouth. I love the way CJ loves Dinosaurs! I really like this. REALLY like it. I agree that 3P should be about gap-filling and add-ons. But the accurate dino mode has had a surprising effect on me. I hadn't realised I was so bothered about dino accuracy before! Along with the added size, vital for Grimlock to fit in with the other 3P MP dinos, this could be the MP Grimlock for me. Cartoon accurate robot, closer to real-life accurate dino mode.

I cannot get my head around the idea of a feathery dinosaur.

Just think of it as an archeopteryk with a larger dentists bill. That's what I do. :-)

I cannot get my head around the idea of a feathery dinosaur. Portraying avian dinosaurs without feathers is akin to a naked tiger. And one way to look at it that seems to help people is this: All birds are dinosaurs. Not all dinosaurs are birds. It's the same as this: All canids are mammals, but not all mammals are canids.

Yeah, I get the theory, it's just... 30+ years of cultural reinforcement to overcome, y'know? As long as not all dinosaurs have feathers I'll be happy. Or else this'll turn into the "Pluto isn't a True Planet" thing again...

All tyrannosaurs, all dromeosaurs and microraptors (better known as raptors), all oviraptors, most therizinosaurs, most hypsilodonts had feathers. It's hypothosized that basal ceratopsians like protoceratops may have had quills on their haunches, but this is widely debated. It's not out of the question that some hadrosaurs and iguanadonts may have had hair like proto-feathers, but this is in the realm of speculation. I would posit that if any of these did, they would be the animals in the polar regions.
We know allosaurs, carcharodontosaurs, and carnotaurus didn't. It's unlikely sauropods, stegosaurs, and ceratopsians would have any.

Yes. Was announced as Perceptor before Christmas. It is an odd choice for sure, but they've also recently indicated they're going to give FoC deluxe Prime the treatment they've given FoC Grimlock and do him properly, which could result in a nice figure. They're also doing the same with Starscream. Planet X make good toys.
I also read on the book of face that MMC are going to do a Jazz to go with Sphinx, Renderform have shown a Thunderclash head for Battlecore Prime, a new company are doing a classics LSotW Guzzle and Maketoys are doing a G1 Masterpiece Megatron in the Remasters style.
It's all go!

So...not to throw the CW thread totally off track...I'll take my Hades-thoughts here...
Anybody already have Minos and Thanatos or planning too? Anyone else as excited about this set?
I've seen pictures of everyone else except Drillhorn prototypes.

If I havent spent all my cash by month end, I will be picking them up. They do look very very good, but, when the set is £420 total I really have to justify it to myself before I can splash out the monies.

TFW had them up and mainpaged, but it seems they've taken them down.
If there was some sort of leak, or privet issue going on and TFW took them down "out of respect," that would be pretty shitty of them to extend that kind of respect to an IP thief, but not Hasbro or Fun Pub, with all the times they'd been asked by these two organizations not to publish stolen material.

They put Minos' jetmode with Aiakos' Hades fists instead of Aiakos' jet mode up.
For a moment I was afraid Aiakos was a Minos retool with the same jet mode, but you can see on Aiakos' legs he's got the tail fins and not just the rudder.
So still waiting for Aiakos jet pics

Ninety bucks for a static shell with no articulation, which looks nothing like the critter it represents? No thank you.
FP's Lost exo-realm Grimlock is also up for preorder. Both with, and without the throne. This one gives me a hard time. It feels way off in robot mode, and the dinosaur mode... While better than FoC trash, is nothing to write home about.

Thanks, Maketoys, that's good For to have seen, yus. But I have to ask: WHERE *IS* PANDINUS?!?
(Yes, I know my go-to whine of 2015 was "WHERE'S REAR-END?!?". Followed by my not buying of him 'cos he was silly-priced. And I know that Pandinus will be STUPID priced. But at least he'll be big.)
