Bravo. This has got me remembering how it felt when Marvel UK Issue 50 came out; that glorious cover of Grimlock and Sludge going at it (fighting). The epic conclusion to Dinobot Hunt. I hope this is similarly Money Supermarket.

Its been cool reading on other sites how shocked people were by the smelting pool on the final page, and if I'd never seen it before I'd have felt the same I suppose. Instead I felt kind of warmed by the fact; "ah, the good ol' smelting pool".
It felt like an affectionate nod back to the Budiansky two-parter rather than the horrifying scare-fest it was meant to be. But that's just my take on it. It did amp it up though, seeing all those melted bodies this time around, the one that did it for me was seeing one robot holding onto another whose brain was exposed. Ugh, now that was horrible and incredibly sad. I can't help but feel Milne would have done this scene 10 times better. Which is a shame because this artist did do a good job, but when Milne gets freaky, he really goes for it, if you know what I mean.

Thanks - I shall stop looking. I hope this doesn't affect James signing in London this week - not that I can make that now, but would be a shame to postpone it again.

Half liked it, half really annoyed. Best actual issue in ages. Tied up a lot of the really bitty-feeling previous issues and made it feel more cohesive. But that was absolutely not £5.50 worth. If I'm paying the price of two and a bit issues, I'd expect two and a bit issues worth of content, not a slightly longer main story and a short backup (did it add up to 44ish pages? It's hard to tell on a digital issue where double pages are counted as one) and then lots of letters from readers.
And the entire thing is setup. Marketing is probably more to blame, but come on, the issue ends on the moment that the big back cover blurb talks about. "Megatron faces the DJD... but not here!" All the marketing and hype did was spoil the final page.

£5.50 on comixology! So I'll have to wait until Sat when I'm getting a print copy. I would have bought it twice if it wasn't so expensive.

I was going to buy a physical copy (and would probably have felt better about spending so much money!!!) but Phil said the UK aren't getting physical copies til next week now, James Roberts signing copies (hopefully) excluded.

I've not read an issue of MTMTE since #35 but be getting #36-38 then the tpb soon so I'm not missing any issues unless I wait for phase 2 tpb's.

No, but spending £5.50 on a physical object vs what's basically a PDF feels like a massive difference as you're actually getting a physical object!

Tru dat. But at least IDW let you download a PDF or CBZ file, DRM free is a bonus.
And retailers would not be happy if the digital copies were cheaper than the print, it's a minefield that needs to be addressed if digital comics are to grow properly.

Everything else digital is cheaper than print, as there are far, far less costs involved in terms of production, shipping and storage! I'd expect a digital comic to be cheaper as I get objectively far less value from it!

...& you need to use power every time you want to read it. You can read it if your battery is dead & a power cut, while you can read a print copy.

Since my Twitter feed was filling up with people spoiling the events of issue 50 (putting {SPOIL} in your Tweet before posting a pic from the issue does not absolve you of guilt) I bought the digital copy. I'll still probably buy the physical issue next week, too - since I have 'em all on the shelf over there.
The issue was pretty great. I'm glad they used the 'event' issue to get me excited for more, rather than another fakeout death or a heavy-handed attempt to pull at my heartstrings (although It managed the latter, albeit in a more subtle manner than I'm used to with MTMTE).
Now more than ever, Megatron is the most interesting character in Transformers. That's great!

The good thing about British Summer Time is we get MTMTE a whole hour earlier! Had the issue accidentally spoiled for me last night but very pleased to see Ratchet and Drift back. That was on my list of things that might happen anyway! Protectobots not back yet either are they?
I spotted the teleporter while reading earlier issues, nice to see that dealt with.
I think the message in the the previous issue is a massive ruse designed to lure the Decepticons or Getaway into some sort of trap.

That was okay. Felt really short and still on the setup of the story, which is a bit frustrating as the advertised tale still hasn't begun after 2 months. I have a feeling this will read much better in trades.

I don't mind that it's taking more time to setup, to be honest. There was a point around issue 40-odds (can't remember exactly where) I was beginning to sour on the whole thing (I still really don't like the shoe-horning in of Earth pop-culture stuff - hate it) - but now they're really starting to slowly build momentum. It's waiting on the looming, inevitable battle - it's mirroring the characters own situation, I suppose.
I can't help but feel that they're going to set up Megatron as MTMTE's stellar heartbreaking moment. The ONE.
