Long working day with something horrible I can't talk about.
Now my nose is streaming.
Early night I think.

First day of my long weekend saw me opt to mostly stay in the house due to unappealing weather. I did , however, make a couple of runs to the Shelter Shop to deposit bags 1 through 4 of Kaptain Karls Klearout number 4.
Spent this afternoon watching "Taken" a film that should perhaps be subtitled "Liam Neeson beats up Paris". I always figured that Neeson would mature as a character actor, rather than an action hero, but he does cut a surprisingly effective figure in the role. A cinema day tomorrow I think. There are a few things I want to see and the weather is forecast to be fairly poor so I doubt I would be doing much in the way of outsidey things anyway.

Preps and edits for the release of CT-Alpha issue zero tomorrow. That's how my day will be filled.

Update from Iowa State University- they have received all of my credentials from the various parties and are evaluating my application. Oo-er. There shouldn't be any problems but still... oo-er.

The neighbours are really pissing me off with the level of their music. Considering phoning the police to make a complaint.

Halloo Sportsfans!
Today Piglet said something that scored a clean 10 in the cute department. Spontaneously she said: "Mummy, you know, I think I know how the World began." Mummy: "Really? How's that then?" Piglet:"Well, I think Santa created the Christmas bit, and then God helped him with the rest." Daddy: "When did this happened?" Piglet: "[shrugs] it happened when it happened."
So now you know. Santa started it all. With alittle help from the other guy.

Relatively early start this morning, so that I could get a few things done before I dondered into Edinburgh for a cinema day. Started out with "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" and then decided on a pub lunch and a couple of pints to recharge the batteries after all that Cold War-era tension. Passed a good couple of hours in the pub nursing my second pint whilst doing some reading, then it was back to the cinema to see the quite wonderful "Troll Hunter".
Wandered back to the station to catch a train home, timing things perfectly to just step onto the train without having to hang around on the platform. Then home to have a bite of dinner then sit down with a large glass of New Zealand white wine (I was feeling nostalgic and having been to the Marlborough area it seemed appropriate) and watch Doctor Who.
I think that will be tough to beat when I am working out my perfect way to spend a Saturday.

The police can't do anything about noisy neighbours. Rather it's the local authorities who have the legal powers to crack down on nuisance.
In England and Wales, anyway.

Tried to have an early night due to lurgy but then the *other* neighbours directly through the wall of my bedroom had 'BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM'! dance music playing very loudly for several hours.
I did not have a good night.

It ain't the proper Marlborough Well, as Hound would observe you can do a lot with Hol-o-grams these days. Spent today doing some more of Kaptain Karl's Klearout number 4/2011. Purging magazines that have been piling up that will never be read again, DVD's I am not going to watch. Things like that. Still some stuff to go through in Phase 1 but that is enough for one day I think. Time to move onto Phase 2, the toys next week I think. Did get a chance to go for a walk this morning to check on the swans. All five of their brood from this year still look like they are healthy and coming along well I am pleased to say. Karl

Rather shit weekend. Too under the weather to get stuff done that I wanted (haircut, acquiring of winter coat and shoes, cinema trip, tormenting Andu). Hopefully next weekend. Work will be....what it is...tomorrow after whatever happened on Friday happened.
3rd attempt at an early night to beat seasonal lurgy coming up, noise from arsehole neighbours permitting this time.
