I actually quite like the look of the Straxus (so he's working under the name Darkmount, this agency nevertheless has no doubt about his real identity). The Paladin inspired vehicle mode is a nice touch, in keeping with the fact that he seemed to be artillery before. The third mode has a bit of a vibe of offspring of the Guntank and the Spartas Hovertank. Actually quite like that.
(I see he has traded in his axe for a Military Pick as well - which isn't a bad idea when you are fighting folk with lots of armour).
I do think that some of the Generations and Powercore lines look quite good. Definitely prefer those aesthetics to the movie style.

Some nice shots of Darkmount and TRU MP Grimlock on Seibertron.com: He's got a crown! And Straxus has his axe! EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!Hailstorm and the new Legends look pretty cool as well. It's nice to see Blaster getting a western release too! -Nick EDIT: This gallery already linked by the Doc in the New Pictures thread. Oops. I guess I was just overcome with excitement Just the other day I was wondering if maybe I have *enough* Transformers and I might stop buying them for reasons other than Toy-fu. Guess not

Darkmount/Straxus makes me very happy indeed as do the Powercore combiners. I think they'll bring back the playability of the Special Teams better than the Energon combiners because of their smaller size.
The revelation of Poochie/Drift has me torn. The design of the toy itself is actually rather good, but I have no wish to support the character it's based on. Does buying it in any way endorse Shame McCarthy? I may have to pass this one up on principal.

I do like the combiners, it would be great if additional limbs were made, even better if the additional toys had robot modes.
As for Drift I've still not read any of drifts appearances besides the cameo in the UK edit, but boycotting it for the whole waste of trees that is AHM sounds like a plan.
Just wait for the inevitable repaint. Some one has already suggested it would make a good Sureshot.

My brother wanted to go to SDCC this year and I could have done with a Blaster.
Oh well.

While I celebrate Hasbro making more comics characters into toys, there are far more I'd like to see first than Drift.

Or Impactor
Or Traachon :v

Is Drift not just a white Masterpiece Turbomaster Boss.
Go on, look him up it is uncanny.

I have no love for Drift the character but as a toy taken on its own merits it looks pretty decent.
I may buy the inevitable Boss repaint!

The Drift toy doesn't look to bad in and of itself. It doesn't exactly float my boat particularly, and it is attached to a character who didn't really impress me in the handful of pages I have seen him in so I am not motivated to purchase it. But viewed purely as a toy in isolation it isn't too bad.

The prospect of a Straxus is a tad semi inducing, I have to say. They better do him right though.

Not minding WforC Optimus, actually. Is he only a delux though? It's the Megatron I'm not liking, looks abit too much 'animation' for me. Maybe he'll grow on me. Hope they do a toy of WforC Shockwave. Oh mama.

The toy is a lot better than any of the comic books he's appeared in.
