Knowing our luck, Hasbro wouldn't use Impactor for trademark reasons and call the toy Erector.

Or Cripple.

You never know they may call him Empactor....as for Erector, doubt it as Meccano in the USA is called Erector, well it is now but back in the day Erector was its own company that made Meccano like kits and the Frenchies as Meccano bought the company...I digress....
Cripple? Given they called a toy Spastic it wouldn't surprise me....or they could call him 'doing a Joey'....lol.

If Straxus got Darkmount, maybe similar logic would need to be applied. Wreckor? Volcano? Autobase?

Debris?
Wasn't that the name of the Wreckers' base?

I've heard that Warpath is the last of the Generations/RTS line for a while. But wasn't there a report of an Arcee being listed alongside him at some point?

Hasbro did say Generations would continue and would feature all the head sculpt changes we've seen onm instructions. However nothing beyond the Warpath wave has been solicited/show at toyfair/walked out of the factory yet.
If I were a betting man, and based on past experience, I'd say generations is done till long after the Movie.

Think it was, but wasn't that the name of the old city it was located in?

I think we're all getting a little ahead of ourselves here.
Besides, surely we're all waiting for a Generations Wheelie first, right?

Generations Cliff Jumper....in a word, fucking annoying to transform, more like a Rubiks cube than anything. Even lost my temper and threw the git across the room - he bounced off a cushion and came apart. Megatron was happy though....
Had to trim a part to make it all clip together better in car mode. Wheels on rear are wobbly too....Nice figure, but shit hands and a bastard to change, fiddly and worry I may crack the windshield parts when changing him into car mode....nice face sculpt.
Generations Blurr - BEST of the bunch of my recent purchases. Like the posability with holding his rifle two handed and the holstered blasters! Like the look of him overall, very Gundamish...
Has anyone seen the alternate 'make Blurr more elongated/taller' look on seibertron.com?
Thunderwing - very simple transformation. Again, no complaints. Like him and think the body could make a good Unicron alternate figure....
Skullgrin - meh, hes ok. Got Straxus so its nowt special. The bio's funny....haven't transformed him yet but will try the gun mode as never did that with Straxus as I bought him loose without instructions....

Late last night my Skullgrin came up to me and told me he'd found a nice berth to sleep in at night at my house, he was very happy to have found a new home with other Transformers - he likes Doritos and chips. Whilst he was eating he then told me he's actually Straxus' younger brother. Seriously though, I did think they'd make good brothers, I could imagine if the Japanese had a new cartoon he and Straxus would be related, they have the same body type and they both have odd heads. At first I wasn't impressed by the toy of Skullgrin but its grown on me, mine did have a loose leg, tightening it up hasn't helped and the red bit at the knee on his left legs askew a titch, also a thin part behind his right foot has a stress mark, dunno if thats from the factory of when I was changing him into gun mode...

What is it with QC on Transformers at the moment? So many new toys that break easily and/or have stress marks within a day.

It does seem to happen a lot, QC stuff doesn't it?
My Skullgrin is, however, fine. I really really like this figure. I don't own Straxus, I know I know, I just don't. But, given my intererst in what I call 'Robotised Pretenders' Skullgrin is a big hit with me.
I just can't get to grips with his character though. The G1 toy was pretty easy to understand, and pretty interesting as well: robot is smart, shell is a beast. But how does this fit into the 'Robotised' Skullgrin? His crapy bio on the back of his card makes him sound like a poor man's Hulk! Doesn't fight 'cos he looses control?
Who is Skullgrin?
WHO?!

Skullgrin told me his names Timothy. They have 'weird' first names....When pressed he didn't tell me his brother Straxus' first name....He also told me he collects Cybertronian retro toys, and on Wednesdays he likes going to the local Toy Town market for things....He was pleased when I told him that apparently there are also small portals in our world that leads into the Toy and Teddy world....
He's a bit odd.
Onto the toy, yeah, I agree the crap filecard is naff. I look at him as some kind of Bezerker Warrior - someone you don't shit with. Ultra smart, powerful and hasn't been defeated much but his rage is usually his undoing, hes the sort of Con who'd be destroyed by say WFC Megatron but in a fight with Generations Thunderwing, it'd be stalemate, they'd BOTH have to call it a day and swear to fight again i.e.
'Till we meet again Thunderwing....and on that day, only one of us will leave the field of battle standing...' (Furman would be proud.... ;P)
With the G1 toy, your saying as a robot he's smart, but when in his shell it affects him to the point hes a raging beast? Interesting, if thats the case the new toy bio has tried to merge the concept into one but the 'doesn't fight cos he looses control bollox' has failed a bit...
They really should bring back Pretenders, but the shells need to be articulated i.e. parts clip onto the bots body to make it so....to paraphrase Baldy Picard...
While I was writing the bollocks about Skullgrin and Thunderwing fighting I thought of them as a 'Titan Class' Transformer, i.e. thats their size/strenght, i.e. 'you don't mess with a Titan, gives it a Godlike ring to it....I do like the actual size of this range too.

Can't get worked up about Rumble and frenzy really, that fact they haven't gotten a western release at all and sold out in Japan so fast means they will almost certainly turn up after the movie.

We could see an RID Stormjet situation on these: impossible to find>silly money on secondary market>then everywhere>can't be given away for free>now obscure and mostly forgotten.
Thus I make the prophecy.

Stormjet ( and RID Obsidian) were 2 of the first end of line toys not to shift in significant numbers. Neither were initially released in the UK but TRU got grey import stock later and killed the demand here. In Beast Machines Battle Unicron, Blast Punch Primal, Stryka & Night Slash Cheetor were also har to get at the time. I can't think nof anything earlier than that. It happens at the end of every range now

Thats a good way of looking at the Rumble and Frenzy thing....methinks I shall await. Unless I see them somewhere online for a good price with reasonable shipping.

I think Skullgrin makes a great enforcer or guard or some sort. He just has the body shape and bulk to be a heavy-weight.
"Titan Class" reminds me of Warhammer 40k....
