Karl, the discount bookshop round the corner from me has a few in at ÂŁ4 each. I'd be happy to pick one up for you if you're still after it.

and indeed seem to from my reading so far.
(despite knowing at some point, obviously from the above post, knowing they were going to be in it it still came as a surprise to me reading the book!)
question though: Have they appeared since the dreadful Fear Itself limited series? There seem to have been some developments since then?

Today's Captain Marvel #1 has Alpha Flight in the supporting cast. Dare I risk it?

I could see Alpha Flight happening, enough time has passed since the omnibus and wasn’t there a rumour Byrne would do something for marvel again soon? I'd be surprised if Alpha Flight is not included. I've never read the Furman issues. Were they ever traded? -Ralph I doubt it, I'm not sure much beyond Byrne has ever been collected? Very VERY little. The First Mantlo issue, 29, is in Alpha Flight Classics. 39 is in various Avengers: Under Siege compilations. Oddly the next issue, 40, which continues the story, isn't. See also issue 50 and X-Men/Asgardian Wars A couple of issues in the early 50s have been reprinted in a UK Jim Lee compilation - 58-60 www.amazon.co.uk/MARVEL-MASTERS-ART-JIM-LEE/dp/1905239416106 is in the Northstar Wedding volume www.amazon.co.uk/Astonishing-X-Men-Northstar-Marjorie-Liu/dp/0785161805/www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/series.php?seriesid=4058&page=galleryI'm pretty certain 33 & 34 have never been collected which is astonishing since it's the first hints at Wolverine's origin and the first appearance of Lady Deathstrike (Did the covers for 48 & 49 get swapped in pre production? New Box doesn't appear till 48!) The Mantlo run - 29-66 - deserves reprinting and serious reappraisal, it's the best the title ever was post Byrne. It's gone up in my estimations drastically given some of what followed. 67-86 - James Hudnall - That's not good. Not sure I've read that since it came out. 87-90 - Fabian Nicieza - is gold, the rest of the Nicieza run to 101 less so. 102-109 - Scott Lobdell - I don't recall being that great.... But I think there's some interesting stuff with Wildchild and of course 106 which bring out into the open what's been there all along if you read between the lines. Well worth reviewing Northstar's prior appearances, especially 7, 8, 22 and the illness story in late 30s-50. 110 to the end is our friend Mr Furman in real 90s mode. Some of the stuff is quite good even though they do try to make the wrong character Wild Child's dad. Some p!ss taking of a certain prominent X character as the series goes on. I think I did a detailed read through of the Mantlo run in back issue love. Bear With see if I can find a link.... EDIT In it's own thread: tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/6025/alpha-flight

I don't think I have read many of the Mantlo issues! Ralph needs Bynre Alpha Flight. His trades were lost last house move. I would buy an Epic volume of it! -Ralph
