So there's gonna be a Rescue Bots cartoon! And soon!

The Hub TV Network has some news to share about "Transformers Rescue Bots," the upcoming new animated Transformers series, created specifically for younger viewers. A sneak peek of the first two episodes of the new original half-hour series “Transformers Rescue Bots” will be presented Saturday, December 17, from 12 – 1 p.m. ET.


Created for the younger generation of Transformers fans, the new series from the creators of “Transformers Prime” will feature a simpler, more traditional animation style in a show that centers on a group of Autobots charged by Optimus Prime himself with protecting and learning about humans while stationed on an island off the Eastern seaboard that serves as a high-tech testing ground. Voice talent include Steve Blum (voice of Starscream on “Transformers Prime”), John DiMaggio (voice of Bender on “Futurama”), Maurice LaMarche (voice of Morbo and Calculon on “Futurama”), Lacey Chabert ("Party of Five") and LeVar Burton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”).

We're excited about having the new series AND season two of “Transformers Prime” on The Hub’s schedule early next year!

"Transformers Rescue Bots" Series Logline: From the creators of "Transformers Prime" comes an all-new animated series following a group of Autobots charged with a mission to protect and learn about humans. Stationed on an island off the Eastern seaboard by Optimus Prime, the "Transformers Rescue Bots" – Heatwave, Boulder, Blades and Chase – team with a human family of first responders including a police chief, firefighter, rescue pilot and engineer to maintain peace and safety in their new found home. Alongside their new human friends, the Transformers Rescue Bots learn teamwork and heroism in a series that brings action, adventure, heart, and humor to the Transformers brand.

While I would hope that Hasbro may have learnt some lessons and it will be as amazing as My Little Pony, I am sure they will slum it and it will be another Go-Go-Gobots.

Don't know many of those names, but the ones I do know are good voice actors at ay rate.

Quite looking forward to seeing what they do with this actually.

Apparently John DiMaggio was a mistake and isn't in it.

It could be good though. COULD. The basic premise doesn't give me much hope though (robots living with a human family, derp-de-derp!), but who knows!

(I am fully expecting something at the level of 'Go-Go-Gobots' but you never know)

And you are not alone. I have fond memories of it. Go-go-go-bots never felt like it was deliberately talking down the the viewer in quite the way Armada did, which won it bonus points with me.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for Rescue Bots managing to do the up-beat, kid-friendly, positive message-spreading thing well. If it manages to do that and credit its audience with a smidgen of intelligence then it should be a decent show.

I've noticed that the Hub is good at doing 'nothing' trailers. That trailer tells me absolutely nothing about the show apart from that it is low-grade flash animation (or seems to be). What's the plot? The tone? The characters?

It's like their Prime trailers which try to hype each episode but only show characters shooting at generic drones each week.

Still, it might be good, but will lightning strike twice?

Cel animation's pretty dead at the moment, Hub shows in particular have all been Flash as far as I'm aware.

I can see "Roll to the rescue!" becoming a good solid catchphrase. Can't really judge the show on that trailer but I am fond of the idea of a Transformers show for the young'uns so I wish it well.

Hmm. The animation doesn't look up to much.

Looks pretty comparable to the sort of stuff my nearly 3 year old cousin watches. Big bold shapes simple movement. So not a surprise unless its target audience is meant to be older.

2 episodes aired and they are (currently) on the tubes of you. Not too bad. Prime is unintentional comedy gold: he is the voice of utter despair and darkness when he puts his cameos in and is utterly at odds with the tone of the rest of the show.

Decent show, I quite enjoyed it. Some of the animation was okay, some was Pugwash levels, but that's the danger with Flash. It still feels a bit 'ho hum better make a Transformer show to make cash' just like Prime does, but a bit more fun.

Well I enjoyed both episodes. It's already better than Armada, Energon, Cybertron and Animated. It's smarter than I thought it would be and thankfully isn't written down to the age level the toys are aimed at (pre-school). Always write above the target audience I say.

I do hope Optimus turns up as a voice of doom every episode. Comedy gold when he appears.

Watched it this morning and it might tempt me to buy the toys for my cough'Kid'cough if/when they are released over here.

Thoroughly enjoyed it tbh, immediate thought was "wow this is a lot like Eureka, but with sentient alien Robots" lol
