Hurrah! Certainly my favourite cover of the series (and a wraparound, no less). Top quality Pretender Beast A-Zs and another fine A-Z Commentary. (Keep going!) The story was very good indeed, despite appearing to introduce yet another continuity (one in which it is not Fortress Maximus who defeats Galvatron, and in which the Protectobots and Shockwave don't survive to appear in G2 or animated Movie tie-in stories) but benefits from this in one respect - namely that it defied my expectations as to who would live and who would die. The text story is top stuff, with Ratchet just as he should be, and some clever and inventive plot twists. All the characters were spot on. The strip section wasn't bad either, although Shockwave was extremely hard done by with respect to the teeny weeny panel in which he was 'killed'. That deserved a splash page at least, not a thumbnail image! Loved the Protectobot Earth-centred work ethic and defiance of Primus. Fits very well with what we learnt of Jetfire, another Earthen Transformer, in his Christmas story. I knew my subscription must be about ready to expire. Please tell me how to resubscribe for 2012! Martin

My copy also arrived today, and a joy and a treasure it is. Feel slightly guilty about all my page hogging, though!

Just opened mine, beautiful cover (though the previous issue's just pips it for me - need a poster!), looking forward to reading it tomorrow.
Pretender Beasts FTW!

Hopefully now all subscribers' copies should have arrived or at least be on their way. I know Royal Mail are busy this time of year. Sadly the print edition of this issue won't be available to buy separately but the digital edition is now available to download from the web site. Graham, no sign of Ben's copy yet. I only mention it since it's usually sent to the same address as mine and mine arrived last week...

Another fine issue of a fine publication. As ever the production values are marvelous and the content is quite spiffy too. The A-Z profiles of the Pretender Beasts are great - they never really stood out to me before but now they seem much more solid to me as characters (ironically, in Catilla's case). The A-Z commentaries are good as well. "Fall with me" initially confused me as I didn't immediately click that you were creating an alternate take on after/late on in the US comic. But once this had clicked into place in my head I quite enjoyed both that and "Break my Fall". You have an impressive ability to capture the 'sound' of these character both in terms of speech and internal monologue which I envy a little. Your Ratchet especially feels spot on - even the rather startling thought that this version of Ratchet might be planning to set out on medical intervention against Decepticons in a multiversal sense feels credible and in character. Good stuff, and I liked your used of the Protectobots too - it felt like a reasonable development of them from where the comic left them, and the final solution to dealing with Megatron was rather creative. Good stories, thoroughly enjoyable . As ever, another good issue which made for some enjoyable weekend reading. Karl
