In conjunction with this, my Transformer toy buying has taken a major winding down anyway due to bigger events happening in my life (becoming a dad, taking out a mortgage etc). Not buying the most exotic figures doesn't mean I like Transformers any less, nor does it make me less of a fan.
I also stopped supporting anything to with the movie licenses on moral grounds for one and I have to say that the DOTM toys I did experience felt very cheap and nasty. There's probably no coincidence there with the report.
Similar to what Ralph said about the production of luxury goods, my conscious doesn't end with Transformer toys. I've become more careful with clothes and food as well.
Will it come to a point where Fairtrade and other causes are branded onto toys? I'd be happier buying a toy product if it was somewhat marked similarly to say how Eggs are with 'Free Range' as opposed to 'Farm'. This just an analogy off the top of my head, but I'd be happier parting with my money knowing that a worker in a toy factory is a more happy employee who can provide for themselves and support their family.
