Up to part 7 now. Have to confess I am losing enthusiasm a bit. It looks very nice, but feels a tad one-dimensional and 80's cartoony (Er, Megatron can hover in robot mode? This makes no sense to Ralph). Not helped by RID and MTMTE being more cerebral/dense reads.
It's not bad though. The art is gorgeous and highly atmospheric (enough to overcome a lot of the one-note dialogue) and continues to be well paced as an 8-page fortnightly strip and at 69p a pop it is good value. If I'm criticising it, it's a gentle criticism. I wouldn't keep buying it if wasn't at least entertaining me on some level.

I think it suffers at the moment from being sandwiched inbetween two very strong titles, all with great freedom to try something new. Autocracy has more constraints as we can kind of see the endpoint but it's been enjoyable. Not earth or trouser-shattering but decent.
The art is top-notch though.

#9 should have been up last week but it wasn't on Comixology then or now. Guess I'm done with it then!

I'll wait for the error to be fixed then. I want all my digital comics in one place.

Likewise. Although your purchases are transferrable between the TF app and the main comiXology app.

Nice art in #10 again, especially in the ash-covered ruins of Nyon and the final page reveal.
I like the cameos in panel 1, Lugnut and Hailstorm! I feel I should recognise the 'con on the far left, but am ashamed to admit that I don't.

This series has completely run into the ground, story-wise. It looks gorgeous, but the story has turned into a steaming turd. Magic bauble shite.

The plot being resolved by The Matrix. Change the name to anything else and you see how it hasn't been properly set up and relies on reader knowledge from other continuities. -Ralph

Well it's almost over now. The art in chapter 11 is particularly lovely in places. That chapter was readable but the story itself has long since went in the toilet, spouting mystical bollocks in place of a decent plot (some especially absurd nonsense in the first page of chapter 11 alone). One chapter left to go!

Hmmm. I liked what I saw of the early chapters but it doesn't sound like it maintains that quality. Not so sure now about whether I will pick up the trade or not..

At 69p a chapter it gets by on the strength of art alone. Not sure about a £15 trade though.

I shall have a ponder and see what I think. I may decide to repurpose the monies and pick up the MTME Trade instead.

I don't give a flying fuck if one of the writers worked on the '86 movie, but having the climax of the story be a repeat of the Prime/Megatron fight from that film (complete with Hot Rod) is lazy ass storytelling of the highest order. -Ralph

I am being more charitable on that scene; I have a feeling it was a deliberate homage used to misdirect - it does end differently after all. Clumsy though.
I am going to buy the trade for the art. I don't think I'll ever read the story again, but I will flick through it like an art book. Really, really nice stuff.

A homage is the odd line here and there, but that was just taking the piss (as well as taking me completely out of the story). Sorry, but if Dille wasn't on this, the fanbase would pelt it.

Sadly I doubt they would. Though it deserves a kicking, for bloody laziness and some poor storytelling (from the writing). I have enjoyed the art throughout.
The fact it homages said film, makes a lot of people happy, and let's be honest Tf fans have been trained to accept shit comics over the years.

"Homage" was the wrong word, but I see what he was going for by repeating (most of) that scene. I also popped out of the story at "One shall stand", though, which is what I meant by clumsy.
Overall I don't think Autocracy has been all that badly written - it suffers in comparison to the two ongoings, but it has a structure and isn't drowning in dialogue or glacially paced. Whatever its value as literature it's still a step-up from a lot of recent Transformers comics. And it's very pretty.
