I bring more licensed product news from Spring Fair International. Copywrite Designs has picked up the stationery licence. On display were a notebook, filled pencil case, stationery set, flat pencil case and scribble set, featuring Optimus or Bumblebee designs. Continuing with their licences are Rubies (fancy dress), Danilo (greetings cards), GB Eye (posters) and Wesco (clocks, watches, gadgets, etc). On display from Wesco were mugs, watches, a torch, things that appeared to be block-shaped nightlights and a sweet/mint tin (the exact contents, I'm not sure); I'll know more about the Wesco range after I speak to my account manager, who was at Nuremberg Toy Fair rather than Spring Fair. The Wesco products I was most excited about were the transforming Bumblebee and Optimus watches, very reminiscent of the transforming robot watches of the 1980s, like this one: cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-1980S-TRANSFORMER-ROBOT-WATCH-BOX-retro-/290508467838

That Ark Playset looks rather nice in ship mode. Like the colours, and the fact that it has a bit of a blocky feel, doesn't look like the original comic Ark but evokes a bit of the same squared-off feel . Be interesting to see the playset mode but the vessel itself is quite nice.
Sentinel Prime's shield is quite good, not sure about the dual hacksaw weapon though, seems somewhat impractical.

I know full well I will buy 2 Arks. One for base mode, one for ship mode. I've been wanting it since 1984!!!

Oh My God, that trailer snippet does NOT fill me with confidence about the new Movie. It's simply full of story archs from the previous two films! Folkes crashed someplace for ages, forgotten 'figure-head' being rediscovered. First Mars, now the Moon. Not like me to be negative bu, Oh man....

Well the second film was essentially the same as the first, just... amplified. So, I don't expect much will be different with DOTM. All we need is a third all powerful object... like the Key to Vector Sigma.

To be honest i'd feel cheated to have that foursome called "Transformers Dinosaur Mini-cons" when only two of them are actually dinosaurs! And one isn't even a reptile creature but a mammal!!!

Just seen the various cyberverse figures in the TFCC members section. Interesting stuff, the playsets look fun, but I have a feeling I won't be rushing to buy any of this years movie line. They really needed to mix up the characters a bit give them new alt modes. I don't need a fourth version of Prime or however many of Bumblebee that all look basically the same. I might finally buy a Megatron though.

Well, if I ever wanted to own a Powerglide that looks like a horrible monster, I can now!

In general, DOTM is making more effort to have different play patterns for kids after the more 'realistic' stylings of the two previous Movie lines. Which is the way to go really, to keep it fresh. The likes of us may find the giant guns, etc silly but I bet kids will love them.
And Cyberverse is exactly what I wanted. Unlike the previous two Movie lines, DOTM will get some of my money.

Hmm, can't imagine ever buying any of these, except where some G1 homages creep in, like this Powerglide: img819.imageshack.us/i/dscf0171a.jpg/ Just don't like the Movieverse (or Bayformers, if you will) entity, personally speaking. Still, I'm sure they'll be some G1/G2 tributes along the way, just as RotF's toy range gave up the excellent Bludgeon.

That Powerglide is divine.
I've just had a look at the Cyberverse stuff and quite like the look of it. Probably the best assortment of the DOTM line for play value.
