While reading back this thread I found this statement that someone needs reminding of: Chum, I too have a set of G2 gobots (minus Megatron and Prime). They languish in a loft somewhere... awaiting rediscovery.... Have you found them? -Ralph They will be in my parents loft. They will be recovered once Joy and I sort a new house. |

They had no reason to change G2 Inferno's colors.
The colors of G2 weren't as nuts as everyone believes them. It was largely only the combiners who had the bonkers colors.
Jazz was the same, only changing the stickers for copyrights. Inferno was the same. Sideswipe got inverted because Inferno, Optimus, and Hubcap were red (and Hubcap was red because Bumblebee was yellow. And I'm guessing the Cliffjumper mold may have been dead).
Ramjet was purple because Starscream was white (I'm guessing Ramjet tooling was chosen because Dirge and Thrust tools were MIA?)
If they had changed Inferno's color, then Sideswipe probably would have been red.

I feel like Bulletbike suffers a fair bit of abuse and yet Meanstreak seems to slide despite being worse. Its the armada Sideswipe of G2. Or Sideswipe is the G2 Meanstreak of Armada I suppose.
