The next trailer for Transformers Dark of the Moon is scheduled to be shown during the American's "Super Bowl" on 6 February, and going online straight after.
Lessee...
Aircraft carrier montage? Sam looking constipated? Carly pouting, likely washing down Bumblebee in a white vest? Optimus Prime saying, "Destiny comes to those who stare too long at the moon."? Some shits gets done blown up? A single red glowing Transformer eye looks over the moon?

As well as the display of robotic whir and click effects at the end.
Predictable but true.

That dirty old man Ron Witwicky likes to appear in films that have aircraft carrier montages in the trailer.

It was okay, it didn't really get me pumped up or tell me anything new about the film, it might as well have been clips from any of the previous ones.
Still it is nice that Bay is still putting in the effort rather than palm it off on some lesser director as a cheaper sequel.

Still very "meh". I remain to be impressed.

I saw jagged metal things hit other jagged metal things which seemed to fall apart. Where they robots? I honestly couldn't tell. I imagine the effects are still being worked on (which is fair enough).
There was a big evil metal airship, which looked cool.
Sam looked scared and the pretty lass somehow conveyed inability to act in a non-dialogue slow-mo explosion bit, which takes a certain kind of talent.
Ech, I'll see it anyway if there are 2D showings so the trailer isn't really aimed at me! Let's be honest. It says Transformers on it. I'll see it. Boom.

"There are robots in it at they fight and stuff and stuff blows up!".
Pretty much what I expected from the Superbowl spot to be honest - a quick flash of image promising that you will get robots fighting each other like in the previous films, and a release date. It isn't really intended to do much more than grab a small slice of folks attention away from their beer long enough to register that the film looks cool and when it is coming out. It does exactly what it is supposed to do really.
Does it make me any more or less interested in the film? Not in the slightest. Will I go if there is a 2D showing? It is quite likely. I am starting to believe that they might have stabilised at a level of mediocre after the freefall suffered by the previous film, and I have already seen far worse than mediocre mecha stuff this year already anyway.

All I'll say is that anyone who thinks Michael Bay robbed them of good money with the first two films has no right to complain if they're foolish enough to go and see the third one!
I'm looking forward to it.

Subtle.
I liked Optimus Prime's spin-y, punch-y, slice-y manoeuvre! A very efficient and 3D way to take out all those reused Decepticon CGI models from the first two films!

That dirty old man Ron Witwicky likes to appear in films that have aircraft carrier montages in the trailer. And humour involving chihuahuas. (In Hot Shots, every time someone tries to sit down they find there is a chihuahua on the seat.) Martin
