Apparently, when a God-Mod amends a poll without amending the post or thread title (e.g. to correct obvious deficiencies such as all three voting options to a Yes/No question being 'Yes'), it leaves no evidence that they have done so.

Where's the 'Yes, they're Transformers product but not Transformers' option?? The answers were traitorously changed to steer people towards the wrong answer

These options do not reflect my vote!
Actionmasters are Transformers, plain and simple! They are Official mainline Transformers Brand toys, and the characters are members of the Transformer race!
You wouldn't say a human is not a human because they cannot walk!

Transformers are not a race, any more than people who wear roller skates is a race. It's a term to describe robots of Cybertronian descent who can transform. Again, I refer you to the first few pages of Marvel TF US #1.

I'm sure Phil would have sabotaged/corrected Blueshift's poll if he'd seen the original voting options before I changed them (Yes/Yes/Yes).

Again, I refer you to the first few pages of Marvel TF US #1. Actually, they may not need to be of Cybertronian descent. Scraplets, Sharkticons, Lithones (in the comic adaptation of the Movie, anyway), Unicron, Action-Master equipment/partners - all Transformers. Quintessons, Death's Head, Primus (as far as we can tell in the Marvel comics), Action-Masters, Mecannibals, Guardian battle-droids, Roller, Microtrailers, Decoys - not Transformers. Martin

And then we have Spike, Zarak, HiQ and co. Humans and Nebulans, but they transform and come in Transformers toy packaging. They are clearly Transformers or at least transforming parts of Transformers. Is Headmaster Fortress Maximus a Transformer? Of course. But he's not the same race or species as Megatron, because Megatron is a robot and Fort Max is part-human - a different kind of life-form. So Transformers cannot be a race or a species if parts of Transformers can be humans and Nebulans...
And the Last Autobot turned HiQ into Action-Master Optimus Prime! Prime and HiQ both used to be Transformers, then became an Action-Master, then became a Transformer again. But I wouldn't like to open him up and see what shape HiQ is in after all that mucking about.
Ho hum.

Yes, they are. The toys transform. They transform from a robot with a backpack into a robot with a big gun. Or a robot and a companion into a robot with a big gun. Or a robot in a vehicle into a robot in...something else. As long as there are more than one form then they count in my book.

I think we have had this discussion, probably with a poll, before.
My yardstick for "is it a Transformer?" is "has it got the Transformers name on it", "is it released by Hasbro and/or Takara?" and "does it transform?"
Action Masters push the definition slightly but even if the character doesn't transform, their accessory does.
An SCF or a Decoy would be a figurine of a transformers character.

I suppose in one sense I'd say that none of the toys are Transformers. Transformers are fictional beings. These are toys representing fictional beings, some of which are Transformers. The Action-Masters are toys under the Transformers brand representing Autobots and Decepticons who are temporarily non-Transformers due to Nucleon, though their accessories may be Transformers.
PVC statues are non-transforming representations of Transformers, while Action-Masters are non-transforming representations of non-Transformers.

I trust that this would have produced a different (i.e. the correct) answer if it had been in the fiction forum rather than the toy forum. Otherwise, logic dictates that remote-controlled toy cars containing Throttlebot brains are Transformers, and all the characters in 'State Games' were Transformers before they even invented transforming and the Cybertronian word for 'Transformer', and Zarak was a Transformer before the Transformers came to Nebulos. After all, like Action-Masters they all transform at another point in their personal timeline.

Sadly I moved them on, which I bitterly regret! Good luck in your mission Ed!
