Phil, I look forward to finding out what bad thing you have done today and punishing you for it later. Andy I await your payback at your convenience. I'll send it up with your Green Lantern figures.

In the meanhap....
Liz is away for the weekend with J. Caravan trip with another Mum from school, courtesy of cheap holiday vouchers from a paper. She's been collecting vouchers again this week and left me with the task of booking the next one. Left a list of locations and dates. The one I could find some free space on is waaaay beyond what I can put on my card and thus what she'd be willing to pay.
Unfortunately I've spotted one of the other dates on the list is the weekend of 3rd - 6th May 2013. Some *VERY* strong words are going to be had when she answers her phone.

#I am a transporter of the wasteland, I am just making it up as I go along# *Zeke howls piteously* I am all encompassing in my love of Zoids. I like all three main continuities fairly equally - the comics are in many ways the darkest and most bonkers of them, the Battle Story snippets feel like a collision between World War II and war in the Ancient World only with giant stompy mecha, and the animated shows are just great pacy bits of animated mecha action on the kid end (and also genuinely make me laugh). Karl (And yes, I am currently looping "Wildflowers" whilst I type this. After the long, strange week I have had it is the kind of tonic that I need). I'd forgotton quite how good Heroes of the Sky was. Just fantastic.

Hmm. Today took a bit of a downturn first thing in the morning when my other half's back acted up and she had to stay round at mine writhing in agony and skip work. On the bright side, when she'd settled down a bit in the evening, we got to watching Bolt, which is now my favourite silly childrens' talking dog movie. Also, waiting on three sizeable lots of TFs (the last remnants of my mad spending spree), none of which apparently felt like arriving. Grr.

My weekend goes from bad to worse. Girlfriend has been in pain since yesterday morning, meaning neither of us got any sleep last night, and now to top it off it looks like some person is possibly stealing my post. I had something sent from the US a month ago that never arrived, and now the better part of a hundred quid's worth of TFs which I had a tracking code for was "delivered" yesterday, but I was in all day looking after my other half, so I know that's a damned lie. Checked with my housemates and neighbours, nothing. If it's been mis-delivered, I hold no hope of getting it back, especially around here.
EDIT: Or the guy could have sent it to the wrong address as that's my "verified" Paypal one, even if it's not the one I asked for. At least my parents don't live too far away... Lack of sleep has left me grumpy all day.

I didn't disagree with your points, but was arguing it was a legitimate approach and gets done all the time.
So there.

In other news, the heating no longer works after the letting agency tinkering of last week. I just realised what with it being a bit nippy in here. Arseholes. Wish I could redirect the excess heat from my house, which is uncomfortably warm, to flow to yours then. Had all the windows open here last night to try to cool the place down to a comfortable level. As to the cake... I have delivered the cake as I promised I would. I may not have had any to eat, but on the other hand I had several pieces of Liz' bread pudding earlier in the month so I figure that we are all square there... Karl

Hay fever hit me with a vengeance today as I went on a trip to check out Edinburger's new toy shop. Had planned a proper walk afterwards but streaming nose and eyes put a quick stop to that. Waiting for evening until the atmosphere calms down before I can get my weekly shop done then. Bloody hay fever.

Message dashed off to letting agency regarding their repeated failures to hold up to their end of the tenancy agreement of late. I am now out for a takeaway as I can't cook due to their refusal to fix the faulty light/extractor fan in the kitchen (it has no window so if both go it's just a dark hole).

This has been a much better weekend than last. Although I have had a couple of dips over the last two evenings my mood hasn't sunk down anywhere near as far as it did the last couple of weekends. The congenial company of friend yesterday has definitely been good for my energy levels.
Today seems to have vanished though - out this morning to catch the early showing of The Dark Knight Rises and by the time I got back and had lunch it was half-past two. I seem to have spent most of the rest of the afternoon sorting through things and earmarking things to be slimmed-out. It feels good to have made some serious head way on that - there remains more stuff in my house than I really need or can properly store. Time to dispose accordingly.
The next challenge is to work out what on earth to do with almost my own bodyweight in comics and books though - given that the nearest charity shop that I know of that would take them is in Edinburgh the logistics of getting them there may prove interesting.....
