Jolly good. I haven't had any dealings with PIP yet but as soon as I saw that the buffons at ATOS got the contract for it I knew it was going to be a crock of shite. -Ralph

Fantastic news! It is great that someone is going to drag the whole PIP thing into the light of the courts. Hopefully this will throw some more publicity on it and show a few more people what a horrendous mess it is.

Even he agrees that ATOS is a terrible idea.
All out war in the comments section. Good to see a lot of disabled folk speaking up. From one particularly impassioned comment:
"More than half the appeals are overturned. In the meantime the disabled person lives like an animal with no income and no support.
They are also not included in any figures, disabled or unemployed, because to the state, they don't exist.
The only place in the world where you can be severely disabled but fit for work, and not have a job but also not be 'unemployed'."

I've come back home to find a letter notifying me of my transfer from Incapacity Benefit to ESA.

To the surprise of absolutely bloody no-one: Impact of housing benefit changes 'worse than feared'"Cobalt Housing, which owns nearly 6,000 mainly family homes in Liverpool, says the benefit change is putting "terrible pressure" on tenants. "We have perfectly good, three-bedroom homes that people are telling us they can't afford to live in, because of the bedroom tax," says managing director, Alan Rogers." If you didn't see that coming, you're probably a front bench cabinet minister. -Nick

Not at all surprised.
I go to those things sometimes as part of my job. Naturally, I can say no more in a public forum.

Read a similar article in the specialist housing press a week or so back. It makes me as annoyed now as it did then. The thing about the HB reduction, and what really annoys me, is that it doesn't take any account of peoples ability to move to different accommodation - people may not be able to move because of adaptations that they need to their homes, plenty of people can't move because the smaller accommodation for them to move to just does not exist. How can you have a policy that is designed to promote movement to somewhere that isn't there? After all - if everyone moved to the "right size" of accommodation then there probably wouldn't be any saving to be made on the HB bill, and we can't have that now can we?

I'm seeing it cause real human misery on the ground. I expect it to be eventually repealed Poll-Tax style but not before social unrest, alas.

At the risk of winding up on a GCHQ watchlist, it sounds like it's time to get out and start setting things on fire then!

I do hope all the poor, unemployed, disabled and foreign nationals vote against this Government in 2015. The current administration seems to hate them all.
