Based on the contents of my Itunes it's like this:
Metallica Girls Aloud Lionel Ritchie Megadeth Offspring.
Loads of one hit wonders and cheesy pop struggling with the metal and so-cal punk tunes in there.

That's an incredible list Andy! Wow! Girls Aloud are undeniably good, it has to be said.
I like One Way Ticket, Donal! But it's definitely their 'Coke' album. It definitely holds up to the maxim of 'If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing'. From what I've heard of the newly-clean Hawkins' upcoming solo stuff, it's more an obvious continuation of PTL. Their debut and its B-Sides are magnificent Guitar Pop, in the word's true sense.

It always worries my friends if I get hold of the music at any get together. The choice in music swings from genre to genre so much that it unnerves them.
Any of those one-hit wonder countdown shows on the music channels are a must watch for me. Often accompanied by abuse for not placing certain songs where I think they should be.
Yes I'm looking at you Magic and your utter contempt for Charles and Eddie's "Would I Lie To You" - possibly the funniest video ever made.

I like quite a few power ballads and rock music so my favourite bands and solo artists are:
Queen Heart Whitesnake Belinda Carlisle Starship (yer, I know they're all old artists but that's what I like)
What's this all about One Hit Wonders? I've got stacks of 80's one hit wonders on my ipod ranging from classic rock and pop hits to cheese-filled novelty songs.

Got a big soft spot for all those bands, Zudobug! Starship wrote one of the best songs about architecture I've ever heard.

We Built This City is actually my favourite Starship song even though most people would actually go for their chart-topper Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now.

The Rembrandts (of the Friends theme fame) Bruce Springsteen Green Day
I really cant separate beyond this as I tend to only own one album of different band/singers.
Pick two from Foo Fighters/ Flaming Lips/ Jack Johnson/Muse/ Jimmy Eat World/ Blues Brothers/Monkeys/ Beasch Boys/ Brian Wilson/ Norah Jones/ based on albums owned it would be Foo and Blues Bros. but that doesnt feel right.

I'd say
Manic Street Preachers Nine Inch Nails Joy Division Nirvana
with a rotating 5th spot for whatever band I'm particulary into at that moment.

Slade's last hit 'Radio Wall of Sound' also runs along similar lines. That too is a catchy rock song with a radio voice-over on it - in this case its DJ Mike Read.

This is too hard. Here's a top 5 artists, that's in no particular order and is subject to change at a moments' notice.
Led Zeppelin Nine Inch Nails Radiohead Therapy? The Mars Volta, Talking Heads, The Smiths, Nirvana, David Bowie, Joy Division, Crowded House, Opeth, Arcade Fire, Miles Davis, Queen, Deftones, Massive Attack (FUCK I'M NO GOOD AT THIS!)
Sigh. Here are 5 amazing albums that I would recommend to anyone, all by artists not on the above list:
1- 'The Shape Of Punk To Come' Refused 2- 'Superunknown' Soundgarden 3- 'Hysteria' Def Leppard 4- 'On The Turn' Kerbdog 5- 'Worship and Tribute' Glassjaw
I honestly don't know how many CDs I own. It's probably around the 400 mark.

This one time, when The Darkness were on tour, they had to swerve the tourbus to avoid killing Crowded House, situated as they were slap-bang in The Middle Of The Road. Come on! This is how music discussions are supposed to go! Militant and partisan! You get off for the Supergrass mention, Shockprowl! (And 'cos you sed noice fings 'bout me drawinks... ) Nick
