Thanks everyone for all the info and replies. This a really great forum to be part of!
Still undecided - its def a showdown between Weaponizer, Cybertron & Energon - although I think I'm going to have to go for the Weaponizer and check out the Arms Microns.
Thanks again

Sorry - me again!
I'm almost sorted now. I've been offered a complete, in good condition, for £30. I like this one as it looks cool with the guns and the wings. Although I might have to show my son some of the Cybertron tv series (if he's not too young for it...) so he understands its another version of OP.
Just wanted to check whether you all think £30 is a good price for it? Inc p&p.
Alternatively i'll just go for the Weaponizer but really don't like the weedy white plastic gun he comes with - was hoping to find out whether you can get replacement guns or laser swords for him?
Thanks everyone for the help.
Kind regards

Assuming you're talking about Cybertron/Galaxy Force optimus? If it's complete and in good condition, 30 pounds sounds like a really good deal. That optimus can pull close to, if not over $100 usd, at times. Or at least it did fairly recently (haven't checked the last few months). And if I'm correct, 30 pounds is somewhere around $50-60 USD, right (or does my dyslexia have my conversion backwards?)
If 30p is what I think it is, were I you, I'd go ahead and get it for him. It really is one of the best Optimus toys ever made.
As for the cybertron cartoon... outside of the movies, there's not a western series that isn't appropriate for children. Cybertron would be a good series for him. It's got a lot of different concepts that it explores, and a lot of different autobots and decepticons. It has a fairly complex story that's not difficult to follow, and takes place on many different worlds. Being disjointed from Armada and Energon makes it easier to jump into than Energon would be. And if you can get ahold of them, would highly recommend Robots in Disguise (RiD). It's a great show for kids. Like I said earlier, it's a comedy series, but it also has a focused plot. Just, it usually leans into doing something silly before it will take itself seriously. It was so silly that the english dub actually pulled it back some. Plus, the series gave us Skybyte. A haiku writing Predacon commander who's so inept at being a badguy, the autobots think he's actually switched sides towards the end. RiD, IMO is a great series for kids. Cybertron is pretty good for kids, too.

Just to give an update - I ended up getting the Cyberton OP - very pleased with it!
Thanks everyone for all your help.
Also been watching the Cyberton series with my son - he thinks a flying fire engine is great - so think he will be v happy on Xmas day.
Shame this series only lasts for 11 eps - already on ep 9...

Thats great! Serves me right for just relying on IMDB. Yeah, IMDB is a terrible resource. It barily even correctly tells you what characters are played by what actors, which is it's primary purpose. This: tfwiki.net/wiki/Main_Page is where you need to go for accurate and real information about the various series.
