Golden Showers for you!
Ok, if I must, everyone moves up and in at 5 is the excellent first release Punisher. You would not mess with this action figure.

Week 20 Original Thundercats

Actually todays got changed after I typed it when I realised I had enough of this type to do a special month later

The original Thundercats toys were utter rot! I remember a mate got some and I rushed around to play with them. We tried and tried to like them but they were poop. So I stuck with the now largely forgotten UK comic*.
-Ralph
*Which had exactly the same format as Transformers (until it dumbed down later in its life).11 page UK strips interspersed with US stories. Heck, Furman was even the editor. Yet never reprinted and pretty much ignored now. Had a healthy long run as well.

Yes, the comic was a pretty good one in it's day. I don't really recall having any Thundercat toys. They were too big to play with with the Transformers, so I never really got into them.

I did tend to hallucinate that the Thundertank was driving up and down the back garden a lot. I had an active imagination, especially when I had a temperature.

1/ Panthro 2/ Monkian 3/ Cheetara 4/ Snarf 5/ Lion-O
The old comic was great, and I didn't mind it being a dumbed down reprint zine towards the end as it meant I could catch stories missed. In the minority here.

Loved the cartoon at the time. Sadly I don't think it holds up. I've tried to get back into it but to no avail.

I think the opening three-parter has held up really very well. After that... there's a certain charm to the over the top voice acting, and an occasional gem either in some top notch animation or a clever story done well, but for the most part, the show has not stood the test of time.

Thundercats is mostly an unknown quantity for me. Never really saw the toys as a youngster, didn't see the cartoon until the last few years and only know about the comic from other folks.

+1 on the crisps. Didn't a pack come free on one of the early issues of the comic?
I had just the one toy, Ratar-O, who was bought as a gift and I was never all that enamoured. My little brother had a few more, but I never found them all that special.
I re-watched season one a couple of years ago, and am with Urzu on that. The opener is pretty good, and it has its moments. The closing episode isn't bad either.

The only Thundercat figure I had was a bald Mumm-Ra I picked up at a jumble sale for 20p back when I was 6. Power Rangers, on the other hand, I have some experience with.
I bought a few zords during the early years. I'll have to have a think about how to rank them.

5 Original Dinozord
4 Red Battlezord - A robot that turns into cannons for another robot :-)
3 Green Dragonzord - Loved it's battlemode combined with three of the Dinozords
2 Rescue Megazord - the only proper combining and trnasforming zord: 5 vehicles, that turn into robots and combine. Wish I owned one.
1 Shogun Megazord - It's a robot mad out of 5 stone robots! Superb. And *THEN* you slot the Falconzord into to form cannons for it as the Shogun Mega Falconzord. Really wish I had a Japanese electronic falconzord with lights and noises to do this properly!

Well the only one I got was Sheep Commander, because he was in Headmasters. I still have him. He is great. That was at Transforce 2004.
Comics back in the day were full of ads for Battle Beasts but I never saw them in shops nor do I recall folk at school having them. Perhaps we were in a distribution black hole.

Good list here >>> www.toyarchive.com/BattleBeasts/Figures/FiguresList.htmlI only seem to recall Series 1 figures from my youth, but S2 was released in the UK too right? Pirate Lion - Eye patch and good complementing colours. Blitzkrieg Bat - Robot eye, hook for a hand, wings, big ass trident. Everything! Killer Shark - He may have pink armour, but look at that weapon! Ferocius Tiger - Pretty lame club, but he has shoulder launchers.. Hare Razing Rabbit - JOKE hahahaa. He's so cute. Hrm, 5th is difficult to choose... Sly Fox War Weasel Grusome Gator Swiny Boar Rocky Rhino Bonus: Wolfgang Walrus, cos it's Longtooth.

I remember having the 2 pack of the Bear and Bat from the first series, all the others I had were 2nd hand from bootfairs. Never saw series 2 or 3, but did get a 2 pack of the Laser Beasts [Tiger and apparently a Centipede] from a market stall in the late 80s. Still have the backing card somewhere.

Are we doing the figures and vehicles seperately, or as a single top five list? Karl I *think* we've already done vehicles (week 10). But if you want to throw a vehicles list in as well as figures .....

I love Action Force.
Figures:
5 Space Force Engineer, just loved the big bulky space-suit. 4 Baron Ironblood, love the removable helmet. 3 Black Major, great baddie second-in-command. 2 Muton, roboty killing machine, great design! 1 Red shadows, like Cobra Troopers, love baddy armies! Wish they'd do a 25th anniversary version.
