Hmmmm, good one.
Well high on the list has to be the incredible Imperial Hoth Attack Base, with it's exploding sections and what not. I had hours and hours of fun playing with mine as a child.
Action Force Snow Cat was a big hit when I was a nipper.
Snow Speeder from Star Wars.
What's the Hoth beastie called? The one that gets Luke at the start of the film? I had the figure of it, and it had a spring-loaded arm so he could properly smack Luke! Great toy as a child.
Not sure of its correct name, but the Rebel Hoth Gun station, that came with the Imperial probe droid. Great to have it fighting the Imperial Attack Base!

Oh and today, under orders, I built a snow Unicorn! Upon which Piglet proudly sat when completed! It had a horn, but not much of a face.

1. Sledge - the most fun snow related thing in my childhood 2. Snowballs - for throwing at folk and having them thrown at you. Always a favourite winter past-time in my street. 3. Star Wars Snowspeeder - you could zoom it across the snow and in a childs mind it looks exactly like it is on Hoth. 4. Star Wars AT-ST - the walking action means it can leave stompy trails in the snow as you march it across a garden path.

Action Force / GI Joe
That I had as a child:
1. Snowcat! Marvelous vehicle, was gutted when the missile launcher broke and it had to be glued in place. 2. Cobra Ferret - didn't do a lot, but was a mainstay in mine and my brother's playing 3. Silver Mirage - see above 4. Cobra Pogo - gloriously absurd 5. Serpentor's air chariot - even more gloriously absurd, with more emphasis on "glorious"
Props also to the motorized back packs, and if the bases counted I might have nominated at least one - possibly the check point, or the Cobra bunker.
That I wanted:
Water Moccasin Tiger Force Firefly Tomahawk Stinger

Back to vehicle month..... Week 10: Original Action Force Vehicles & PlaysetsHaving done GI Joe, it's now the turn of it's UK Counterpart Action Force. We're looking specifically at the UK created (or redecoed) toys that make up the Action Force lines that aren't GI Joe imports. So anything pre 1985. For our purpose here this is what I consider Action Force to be: The original Action Force line, basically a small scale Action Man www.bloodforthebaron.com/toys/001/index.htmland The second Action Force Line: Z, SAS, Q & Space Forces vs The Enemy www.bloodforthebaron.com/toys/002/index.htmlAny vehicles from those lines.

Wow looking through those vehicles really brought back good memories! My brother was more into AF, and I was more into Star Wars, but I did get some of these, and played extensively with his! I could get into these again quite easily...
Ok, IN ORDER:
5. Laser Exterminator. Never had it, but want it. Giant laser cannon. Awesome.
4. AF5. Same mold as the entry below, I realise, but I LOVE this vehicle. My bro had one of them, loved it.
3. Shadow Track. Just an awesome vehicle, lots of play possibilities. I had one of these myself, and loved it.
2. 1982 carboard HQ. Bro had one, I had the Death Star. The HQ is argueably better, certain had more playability (but it's not Spacey so...). Great great fun. It is now in my possession.
1. Robo Skull. Never owned one. Might have to own one. Just a great design! Slightly rips of the TIE fighter, but what a unique design. Yes. I will own one.

In fact out of that first year of the 4 forces Action Force every vehicle is either a repurposed original Action Force vehicle OR a reprinted GI Joe vehicle apart from one.
Can you work out which?

Remind me when we get to the figures and I'll tell you where all of them are taken from! As for my top 5, confining myself to the ones I've owned:Cosmic Cruiser It's a spaceship! Sooooo wanted this when I was young. So never had it. So bought it a few years back and it's fab Satellite Defence see above. Except I did have it when I was younger. The pegs on the blue thing behind the cockpit are so fragile though. The treads at the front always intrigued me which led to me discovering it was a recycled AF9 and thus to look at other AF Vehicles. Triad Fighter see Cosmic Cruise above. Another fab toy. Stingray one man sub. Looks great. The hole for the pilot to look down through intrigued me. AF3 now I've voted AF3 here but I actually prefer the colours on the two later versions it was split into Z -Force Jeep and SAS Boat Patrol. Two figures in the front. Room for more in the back either sat or standing and thus beating the SAS Panther. A roof that comes off to become a boat (the support for the roof is another fragile piece) Top toy. The recoloured version is in my collection now. For what I didn't own:Headquarters it's a freaking retooled Death Star plyset = love. Played with a friends. Want. ATC - yes a Joe vehicle, but a retooled one. The Rebel Transport of Action Force toys Command Centre and another. I love my bases and prefer this version to the GI Joe colours Swordfish retool AF7 extensively and add the missile unit from SAS Mobile Missile System/ GI Joe MMS LOVE. Love floating toys and this is a great one. Roboskull Yes it's a TIE Fighter rip off but the Enemy needed to fight Space Force. And it is one of the most Bat-$#!+ mental vehicles of all time.

BTW if you fancy a challenge look at the Space Force Battle Gear: www.bloodforthebaron.com/toys/002/space/010/index.htmlThis stumped me as a child: I could recognise the Commander's Hat and the Pilot's helmet, their Gun and a cut down version of the Patroller/Security Trooper gun but where are the rest from?
