Just finished it tonight, having been given a copy by Ralph.
Really enjoyable stuff, haven't read the book in years and have a fancy to do so again.
Will start the LOTR BBC Radio saga soon.

Must get both of these. Heard LOTR many years back and loved it.

Both are tops, though be warned that The Lord of the Rings is six million hours long. Unfortunately, it keeps in Galadriel's dialogue. She doesn't half spout a loud of pish.
"So, Sam, no useful weapons for you. Have some dirt."
Sam should have told her to fuck right off!

I recorded it off the Radio in the late 80s so know what to expect. Is it 26 half hours or 13 hours?
You know who the narrator is?

Chap from Silver Nemesis!
It's been edited into a continuous piece per book.

Obviously Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (can supply) but Brian Sibley (LOTR) did a series called "Tales from the Perilous Realm"....,.
It's ££££ on Amazon but there might be a few episodes in the Phil cassette box. Will check and MP3

RE: LOTR. The music CD aka Track 4 of the download of ROTK mostly works much better as 'walking about' music than if played straight after the play ends.

The version of the Hobbit I'd really like to hear again is the Jackanory one.
Serialised over two weeks it had four readers inc Bernard Cribbins as Bilbo, Barbara Flynn and (I think) Michael Horden. Let me check....

Never watched it and developed a deep urge never to as it was one of the first memes I saw when I got online ie folk shouting about it without actually saying why. I will never watch Monkey.
