There's an evil Scanner in Scanners II. He bears a scary resemblance to Nick.
This is where I think he gets his powers, and because he's a Scanner it's not his fault. This doesn't make him any less dangerous though.

Just a quick one. The pixel limit is just for uploaded avatars right? I use a link from a photobucket image which is clearly a lot bigger and gets scaled down. Do I greedily bag bandwidth every time I post on a page? If so, I'll bother my arse to scale the images down and upload them instead.

Yeah the limit is.
The hosting is with proboards and I've not noticed any slowness with pages loading so I think you are alright.
