The Constructicons driving up the legs of the combining Devastator ? Still at least there was some amusement inbn the closing seconds as Shockwave shoots at Spike with a Shockwave shaped gun..... awwww, it's gone at the start of part 2

I can't believe you are not enjoying Desertion of the Dinobots Part 1. Andy The one moment of joy in either part was Shockwave using mini Shockwave. Dreadful otherwise. Now tell me why I am wrong

Like you, I am no fan of the S2 titles. S1 all the way.
There's some nice animation, and I really like the way they do the head/face of Ratchet/Ironhide in this. Starscream challenging Megatron on the grounds of him wanting to be more discrete. Nice touch, and one of the few that make sense.
Mirage gets to do something, what's not to like it. It happens so rarely.
Love Grimlock's characterisation at the start, when he is telling the Autobots to GTF. I do feel sorry that they keep getting left in the cupboard.
When the Dinoots get damaged, it's one of the few times in the toon, that there is any sense of danger, and a chance that the characters might actuually die. Yes that is undermined right after with the Powerglide/Grapple/Ironhide scene, but this is a kids show.
I love that the Dinobots tell the Autobots to away and raffle. Given their treatment it's understandable, they are second-class citizens in the Ark.
The Cybertonium idea is a nice gimmick, and does make a little sense given they are stranded on Earth. Megatron blowing his vocal components and Starscream attempting to seize control does not.
Love it when the Dinobots decide to help just because they know there is a chance to go to Cybertron, again Grimlock is alpha male here and enjoyable. The characters are not sophisticated by any means but neither are they all that stupid. I like this, again it's one of my favourites.
Poor Shockwave, totally punked by Slag. But when the next lot come through he has a wee mini Shockwave. Love it.
It's just a FUN episode. A few things are wrong with it, but there's some nice character moments, the voice acting is tremendous and the animation is pretty damned good.

Never liked the s1 titles. Rather dreary and with a tune rather lacking in energy or drive. The s2 one is far better, being edited more integrally with the theme tune which is also significantly punchier.

The S2 intro is far, far better. Also that was the one on the 'Tempo video reel' at the end of all the video shop cartoon videos

The season 2 intro was awesome. My favourite TF intro ever. I believe that season 2 also had more fun episodes.

Voice away, you are both wrong. I will concede the S1 theme tune is not as good, but the opening animation is a near perfect distillation of Transformers as a concept.

Dark Awakening: That was good, liked that. Wonder if Furman had seen it before writing the bit in Space Pirates where Rodimus becomes Hot Rod again? The Damaged Prime at the end was fab. Shame about the botched sequence where Hot Rod remains Hot Rod even after he gets the matrix returned to him then suddenly switches to Rodimus mid scene.

You know what I must do now then.... it's bonus episode time!
