Hmm also discovered that theres no way to lock them, they pull right off. Cant be bothered to check instructions I'll continue to assume its deliberate and not loose parts.

Ha! Actually there was much celebration from what I read: If Shockwave is a legend then maybe Bruticus can use him as a Legend like in the cartoon.
Besides we've had a Thundercracker Legend & Leader this year.
There's apparently another Leader toy too as well as the already known but not seen Ultra Magnus.

Pipes: I'll be surprised if this isn't just a Blue Op repaint but will be disappointed if it is. That'll make 3/6 of the 86 Minibots done in Legends scale leaving just Outback (Brawn repaint, who may be a Swerve repaint/mould), Hubcap and Wheelie. Hubcap's a bit difficult, cos he is effectively another yellow Bumblebee with a red face. Wheelie, on the other hand, I could see working well from the existing BB Legend with a new head. *Personally* I'd like to see new BB & Cliffjumper Legends versions closer to the G1 style. Chop Shop: ? I'm guessing Skrapnel remould with new mandibles replacing the antennae. Shockwave: I think Shockwave and Warpath are remoulds of each other, with the tank turrets, although different, forming the chest. You could see Shockwave's chest being formed from his gun barrel. Buzzsaw: Tape? Insect? Odd one this |

I'm pretty happy with a Legends Combiner Wars Shockwave existing - nice smaller price point toy hopefully homaging one of my long-time favourite characters. I'd be quite happy to pick that up and replace my BH Legends Shockwave with it (assuming it has a better alt-mode than...whatever that was supposed to be).

Yep, also goodness. My BH Legends Shockwave is also my Legends line Shockwave. But if this new one is more G1 than that one, then I may have a better candidate. And less mental pain from crossing the lines...

I am fortunate in that I don't really get that mental pain my Prime Vehicon sits on the loving room shelf with my Universe Bluestreak and my CR Black Convoy without anything being amiss. (Well, other than the Vehicon is a little concerned that Black Convoy appears to be a bit of a nutcase with his tales of being made to sweep the park, and Vehicon wonders whether he can transfer to the upstairs shelf and work for Da Garn instead as he seems the saner of the two sword swinging super robots...)
BH Shockwave isn't my "Legends Shockwave" he is my current "Shockwave toy" he replaced the movie one who I couldn't justify keeping when he had one really good mode and one mode that got worse every time I saw it. If the Legends one bears up I shall probably charity shop the BH one, or feed it to Toy-Fu as Sunday fodder if wanted. Don't need two Shockwave toys really.

Shockprowl will not exist until we get one that looks like the one in Bogotan's bottom flap picture. That is Shockprowl. We need to orchestrate a repeat of the whole Megatron/Ratchet fusion, and given we have some bonafide scientists on these boards I think we should be making this happen.
Meanwhile on topic, if a Legends Shockers is actually going to turn into a gun so Bruticus can hold him my rage may be pacified. Nice homage to the cartoon, and I'll take a Shockwave with a gun mode at any scale, *then* moan it isn't a Voyager.

Buzzsaw intrigues me more than anything else.
I want ALL the "tapes" released in alt modes independent of Soundwave and Blaster.
Ravage transforming from jaguar into predator drone, with a heavy retool into Steeljaw. Rumble and Frenzy as hogs. The birds as ground vehicles of some type. Ramhorn as a bomb disposal drone, or something similar.
That type of stuff. So I wish/hope buzzsaw is this. Though more likely it'll be a bird to robot, or even more likely a Powerglide repaint.
and there's another part of me hopes this listing is a mistake and it's a deluxe Waspinator repaint.
I'm sure at this point I don't have to voice my distaste at Shockwave being a legend.
He needs to at least be deluxe, and that's still too small for my taste. but as a deluxe, he could transform into a gun arm for gestalts.

Yeah, it's not a surprise, but very disappointing given the designs that they had been putting out. (I loved - as I might have said before, I'm sure - the IDW-inspired designs for Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Tailgate and so on.) But I guess this isn't a labour of love for Hasbro, except for their love of money. And financial concerns mean that *of course* the molds are going to be re-used.
The biggest disappointment really is the assumption now that these molds are going to get at least three uses. Prime will be Prime, Huffer and Pipes, and Megatron will be Megs, Warpath, and Shockwave. I'd be surprised if it works out any differently. The only repaints I'll forgive are the Seekers. On account of them being Seekers. Ah, past Hasbro - you should've thought this through better, and there'd be a lot fewer disappointed collectors in the future...

Primus slagging wept, I'd forgotten about Nemesis Prime. The sods. Clearly they sunk all their budget into the combiner figures (which is no bad thing, to be fair) which is why we've had to go with so many repaints.
All the same, though, how much would would it have been to paint Legends Optimus white, and give him a trailer to combine with? I'd have been all over that, like a drooling fanboy over a new set of toys...
