There are some things you just don't mess with. Prowl is a police car. Ratchet is an ambulance. Jetfire is an aircraft. And Warpath has a big chest cannon.
Maybe they'll surprise us and enable the gun to fit to his chest somehow how.

Not too worried regarding the upcoming Shockwave being a repaint/remould (until we actually see it I have no opinion on the toy itself one way or another). Probably won't buy it because I have that mould already and although it is a really good mould I am doing a lot less "doubling up" of moulds these days.
The Deluxe from a few years back is a decent enough stab at a reinvented Warpath as an MBT, so I'm happy enough for that to be my Warpath. I'd bave rather had a new mould, but if they are going the repaint route then they are at least picking a good fun mould to use.

If Hasbro are so repaint-happy, when are we going to see Diaclone colours variants of the new Insecticons? Well there's a Chopshop discovered that I give you good odds will be a Skrapnel repaint with remoulded Mandibles. And I suspect Bombshell will become Barrage. Diaclone Insecticons may have to wait for Botcon |

I agree with everyone. Thought for sure another Huffer, but that actually looks great! Not "replace the PERFECT Generations Warpath" great, but worth owning (unlike Huffer).
Pretty sure slapping a maximal or predacon symbol on his chest, and he'd repurpose so a beast era guy pretty well. Just dunno who yet. Razorbeast, maybe?

Being that legends doesn't really look like Megs much either it's just a generic tank robot bent to look like Warpath. Pretty nicely, I admit, but it's only the head that says that's Warpath. |

If you were a robot would you want a cannon in your chest? Depends. What's my armour distribution? Is it like things like Battletech or Mekton where torsos can carry significantly better armour coverage than limbs? Or is it more Gundam, Heavy Gear or Jovian Chronicles where the armour thickness is pretty much the same everywhere? In the latter case I want the cannon in, on, or as an arm so as to increase my arc of fire. If the former, then depending on how volatile the ammunition is then I probably want it mounted in the torso to bring it under the thickest armour to protect it from unplanned kaboom... Like most things it is a trade-off, without a right answer from a practical point of view. And that is before we start thinking about recoil damping, and off-axis forces acting on my endo-skeleton. :-) Karl |

Guns on my wrists. Guns in my legs. Guns in my feet. Guns in my ears! I don't care about recoil - I've got arthritis anyway. I might as well look AWESOME whilst I suffer. Anyway. Yeah. Warpath's a hell of a lot better than I imagined. I like it. Not as much as I would have liked an Impactor, mind. (Damn you, Turnbull! I was happy for exactly 2 minutes after seeing that picture!) But still, it's fairly nice. And maybe, just maybe, the Shockwave repaint, with just as good a head sculpt and hopefully a slightly different chest sculpt, will look just as good as well. |

As Warpath? Weak. But I'm happy about that because the Generations one is still so great, and I'm trying to not own two versions of one character these days.

I have no problem with Shockwave turning into a tank so long as the robot mode looks Shockwavey. AM Shockers has yet to be topped!!!
