In hand Cliffjumper and Nemesis Prime

Cannot understand why my head says Cliffjumper looks great, yet I'm still of the opinion the BB from that mould is awful. I'm also not usually into the dark Primes, and one at that scale is no use to me for anything, but that's a nice paint job so it'd make a good desk toy as a one off.

Since getting into these Legends figures, I've not thought much to the Bumblebee mold.
What's it like in the flesh, owners of it?

It's ok. Nothing special. Arms are quite clever in the TF. But It's not as good as the more recent ones

There's a definite change in quality once you get past the first four Metroplex ornaments, although I like Megatron in his Takara colours. Prime and Bumbles are the worst ones.

I put a ball joint in his neck and it turned the figure around for me. It's given a lot more poseability obviously but he looked too hunched before it. He now scales much better with the rest of my WfC/FoC crowd (being as the actual WfC BB is, amongst other faults, massive). I'll likely do the same with Cliffjumper. Quite an easy mod too.

Sounds like it's way beyond my mod skills (which peak at 'putting on reprolables'). I hope for a future G1y Legends BB, which would fit better into the 'Classics' line up.

As of now both BBTS and Entertainment Earth have received the Gears/Acid Storm wave but neither appears to have got it's full allotment. No retail sightings yet in the US.
Could be another one that's hard to get.

I've been thinking about Legends Huffer. I'm not sure they can get away with the traditional "exhausts become arms" TF here and give him 5mm hands. I think I'd be tempted to make the rear of the cab the arms, with appropriate silver pipe detailing on the exposed inside pieces, and attach the exhausts to the forearms pre-empting the inevitable Pipes recolour. Which reminds me....

I can't remember if I noticed the news about Huffer when it was originally posted. Whatever the case, a Pipes re-paint would be awesome. Who doesn't want a tiny piece of plastic heart-break? They should put him in a box set with Rewind...

Psychoshi on the 2005 boards has had a go at using Photoshop to correct the problems with Gears' head.... and done a damm fine job.

The third one is the only one that looks right

The one on the left is the released version. The one in the middle is the released version with the head coloured correctly. The one on the right has the head replaced/stretched to it's correct proportions. The problem is the toy's transformation: the sides of the chest swing back, pushing those square units beside the head forward, stopping them from using a flat face plate. I can see now *WHY* they went down the path they did but The Card Art makes it blatantly obvious something's wrong. I'm sure a 3p company will be along with an attachment to fix it.

Not really a fan of the non toy face, but if you are going to do it you still need to use the torso pieces to fill the face out. which means swapping the red and silver, for me it makes a big difference. But Personally I want to see the toy face version, this one only needs a new head and shouldn't affect transformation.

I want the Boba Fett style Gears head from that one Annual story

...and from the very first issue of Marvel's Transformers. It must be said though, I do much prefer the toy-accurate face. But then I guess I was never particularly fussed about Gears as a character...

RE: Huffer/Pipes. One of the new Insecticons (Bombshell?) has 'blaster hands' so they might still go down the arm exhaust route. Especially as they appear to have canned the microns...

Disappointing, but unsurprising. And, actually, I think that colour scheme works really well on that mold. I may consider picking up this repaint, depending on how well it interacts with the rest of the combiners...

Personal opinion, they screwed this up so badly, I'd rather they not have tried at all.

It needed the box behind the head and the blue chest. Big fail.
Also probably means no Pipes :-(

Really would have made a better overload with a bonus powered convoy homage. Dont hate it though, but botcon huffer and cybertron not pipes do much the same job for me already.

It does, but only moderately. At least it helps tamp down the "Hi guys! Like my orange Optimus costume?!?" look of it.

You know what annoys me most about that picture? Not the fact the toy is disappointing, which it clearly is, but the fact that in an official publicity shot the shoulder flaps aren't symmetrical.
I appreciate this does say more about me than Hasbro.
Three uses of this mould now. I think we'll see the Bumblebee one again then.
