Some places has led me to believe that ESSENTIAL SUB MARINER VOLUME 1 has been out for a while now - but I can find no evidence of this grim fiasco. Does anyone know if this is true, or a falsehood designed to grind my nerves to dust akin to that of a Stygian tomb?

Amazon UK has new books up. Not much of interest ... Classic Gambit is interesting due to the art line up. And there's a classic Powerpack HBK too

Hmmm. I'd rather it was an Essential. Classic volumes are twice the price with half the pages. Grumble mutter.
Gav, I fear the Sub-mariner book is an Amazon phantom. I can't find a solicitation for it.

Mumble, grouse, grumble. Darn it Marvel, where is my Essential Power Pack in glorious black and white. Ah well, I guess they will be getting some more money out of me than I bargained for.

April Solicitations up at NewsramaNot sure about the Gambit book... I'd quite like colour reprints of those issues even though they'll be Essentialed shortly. Essential Dazzler - Beauty and the Beast and Secret Wars II 4 ? Sold. Exiles Ultimate Collection - I sold the early Exiles trades a few years back and sort of miss them. In. Deadpool Classic V2. V1 was good !

No.
Fantastic Four Visionaries John Byrne v0. Two issues of Marvel team up with Spiderman battling the Super Skrull first with the torch and then with Ms Marvel. Marvel Two In One 50 - The Thing vs The Thing (which I think I already had) and a few issues of FF in the low 200s which I don't - including a 3 panel guest appearance by Vindicator (Guardian !) Superb idea to collect Byrne's earlier FF. I await Alpha Flight V0 with their X-Men appearances (109, 120-121 & 139-140) plus maybe the Machine Man story and the Marvel Two In One appearance.

I am required to raise the profile of the Byrne FF v0: Several of the FF issues contained within are Mantlo Madness !

One of the greatest trades Marvel has ever produced has just dropped onto my doormat.
Avengers Knights Of Wundagore has arrived. Reprints Avengers 181-187. You can't go wrong with classic Avengers issues of that vintage, especially when John Byrne's drawing them. We've got the origin of Quicksilver & The Scarlet Witch... 187 is just superb, brilliant issue. Then in the extras as well as the covers to the Knights of Wudnagore backpack trade and the cut down Yesterday Quest edition we've got an original page of art, a page from X-Men 125 that was in Yesterday Quest and is rather relevant and the letters column for Avengers 192 explaining how the story came together. superb stuff. And it ties into the current Mighty Avengers story (hence I suspect the reason for it's release) If you've got a spare £9 treat yourself to a copy from Amazon.

At last, the local library now has a graphic novel section! It's tiny, but it's better than before where there none. No Asterix or Tintin though. Booooooo. Read 'Ocean' by Warren Ellis and Chris Sprouse. Read some of it back in the day but dropped it due to late shipping. Pretty enjoyable as a trade though. On checking the date of Planetary Vol 3 I see it was published in 2004! With some featured issues originally published in 2001! FFS! Where is my volume 4, Mr Ellis? It's been five years! Five years!
*weeps*

I've had a flick through that. The Neal Adams issues look so much better in black and white than the recolourised abomination of a few years back.

Very pleased to hear that. I saw the reprints in the back op Marvel Superheroes but didn't read cos I knew this was on the way.
Wasn't that Adams Visionaries trade awful ?

Amazon have mailed me today to tell me that the Essential Marvel Team-Up I ordered in March last year is going to be released in early September.
Why have they done this ? Because I've bought some Byrne/Claremont MTU back issues on eBay.
Here's hoping Alpha Flight Classic v2 also gets rescheduled

Essential Classic X-Men v3 en route to me. I've not read most of these. I picked this up, despite owning the original Adams issues I never got around to reading them and they're now stuck in my parent's house. Also not read any of the Amazing Adventures Beast issues, so looking forward to that!
