Man Without A Face is the new volume (linked above), with Road to Reborn after that.

Cool. I'm a bit annoyed Hitch is doing the Reborn story. Don't care for his stiff style and also I'd rather Cap's return be handled by one of the main artists ie Steve Epting.

Captain America: Man Without a Face Or Brubaker V9. I read half of this in floppies and it's the usual superb stuff with added Sub Mariner this time shows someone who met Bucky when he was the Winter Soldier and wants revenge. If you've read the previous volumes, you'll get this, and if you haven't go and buy Winter Soldier v1 & 2 right now !

I don't think we've asked this question before..... which *current* comic series are you buying in trades ?
For Me: Captain America Daredevil Iron Fist Hercules
Following the recent cull X-Force will join this list and I think we'll try the next trade of Uncanny X-Men, New & Dark Avengers.
Anyone else like to share ?

through into April: Instant order for Immortal Weapons and New Mutants v5. Not surprised to see X-Men avengers back as it's the same month X-Men/Dark Avengers comes out. was tempted by the Acts of Vengance HC. Then realised I have most of the issues within bar the Spiderman ones. It's also missing the X-Men issues and the New Mutants issue (Liefield's first)

Thanks to Royal Mail losing the Amazon account I won't be able to order books from them anymore. They're going with Home Delivery Network who on past form can never find where I live (see my tales of woe upthread). I am not a happy bunny. I'll either have to ask friends to order books for me or go with inflated comic shop prices. BOBBINS.

2 ideas: 1) Use Amazon and get it set to someone you'll be seeing / could send it on 2) Try play.com's book section

Have you read any of X-Men Forever? I'd be curious what you think of it, as you'rea much bigger x-men fan than I. Picked up #8 but not had chance to read yet. -Ralph Retrieved from the GPO this morning. Didn't exactly set my world on fire, but the big concept in the book - all mutants die young - is only introduced at the end. However it's later issues that garner the praise in the comics thread *and* have Smith art so I'll probably give v2 a go. Grumett's art is good, like the phoenix costume in X-Men colours that he uses.

I don't really think X-Men Forever will work in trade format, to be honest. It seems designed to be a fortnightly burst of 80's nostalgia and not really something that I think will hold up in other formats.

Daredevil: Return of the King aka the last Brubaker volume. Kingpin's back having been taken off the board earlier in the run - and he and DD team up to go after the Hand. Is this going to end well ? Of course not !
Brubaker's DD run has been stonking stuff, if not quite on the level of his Cap. The first two volumes - Devil Inside & out are the best and if you like Bru's Cap then pick these two up.

Logging into Amazon this morning I see there's a new edition of Tale of the Deadman coming out. Result ! Been out of print too long but really should be in the latest Dredd collection as it does dovetail into it a little....

I know, been after it for ages, it has both The Dead Man and Tale of a Dead Man together.
Cracking stuff, John Ridgway, Will Simpson, and Jeff Anderson - (all TF alumni) doing some amazing work and John Wagner was doing some of his best Dredd stuff. The overall thrust of Dredd stories from Oz to the aftermath of Necropolis was a great run of material and well worth shelling out some paper pounds to get in shiny new tpb form.

Fantastic Four: Simonsons v3 Well the volume starts with 3 issues of Art Adams artwork that even Al Milgrom's inks couldn't ruin but the curse of AM takes issue 350 down with it. Fortunately the next issue - 352 due to a fill in for 351 - Simonson takes the inking riegns back and the art is much improved.
But ....
The stories aren't anything special really, not a touch on Simonsons Thor. I've said a few times about problems with the X-Men, but to be honest FF is the first really broke Marvel title. Byrne did some good stuff with it but after that .....

Al Milgrom can be a good inker when matched to the right pencillers. He did good stuff with Stroman on PAD's initial X-Factor run and he was okay when he inked Cosmic Jim.

Yep. Re-read my trades of INFINITY GAUNTLET and INFINITY WAR. Still great stuff. Picked up the two volumes of INFINITY CRUSADE from FPE in their half-price sale before I boycotted them. There is a case of diminishing returns but it reads much better in a collected format and if you read it straight after the first two stories. Marvel really need to put INFINITY ABYSS back into trade (my favourite Infinity story). Alas it's out of print and amazon want £45 for it! My bookcase needs that gap filled damn it.
Also picked up from FPE were vols 1 and 4 of Thor Simonson meaning I at last have the full run. I plan to read through the whole lot in order soon!

Picked up Vol 3 of Simonson's Thor run last week, the first volume I have got in trade form. It remains one of my two favourite runs on Thor - Simonson really seems to "get" the characters, and his art is such a match for Thor that it just all clicks. I have a feeling that my budget for the coming months is going to have to make some space for the noble son of Odin - I'm going to be needing to track down the rest of this in trade format methinks.

And now I have added Volume 5 of the Simonson Thor run to my shelf courtesy of finding it at a cheap price. Simonson trades of the art chores to Sal Buscema at this point in the run, but that is no real hardship as Buscema's art is cracking stuff as well. The highlight is probably the battle against the World-Serpent - a knockdown-dragout battle too big for normal panel compositions. I think I may have to embark on a mighty quest to locate Vols 1,2 and 4 come the new year.
