Found a Cable/Deadpool at www.bookdepository.co.uk/ for £19.12 delivered, 3 pound cheaper than Amazon. Ralph, this place might be a solution to your Amazon problem.....

I used to use them through Amazon Marketplace but stopped when books were shipped stuffed in jiffy bags.

WHERE'S MY SEIGE COMICS AMAZON?!?!! DON'T MAKE ME KICK YOUR ASS!!!! apparently Amazon have changed their trade supplier ( see here) and it's been shagged ever since. Last Stand of The Wreckers, Deadpool & Cable 3, Avengers Under Siege and other have caused problems Their new distributer for trades may lose them money if this keeps up then! -Ralph Bunged em an email tonight to complain about the delay in Avengers: Under Siege

Did... did you read a different Siege to me? No Sir! No way! Not taking the schmicheal either! I genuinely thought it was brilliant! I'm sure on second reading I'll see some faults, but it was just so... so ENORMIC! Fights I've always wanted to see, huge battles, you know who back with his shield, and Sentry, oh boy, I just can't take it in! He just went crazy! Bob! No! But what an ending. Nope, I loved it. I'm still reeling from it.

I was reeling by the end of Siege as well. Just not for quite the same reasons it would be fair to say.....

I have read better comics this year....
I have to say this isn't the reaction we were expecting. More mourning the death of Sentry and cursing me & Burns for winding him up into a state of anticipation when it turns out Bob snuffs it.
Hey ho.

I thought the end of the Sentry would break Shockprowl's mind for he is the one person on the internet who loves the Sentry.
How surprising.

More mourning the death of Sentry and cursing me & Burns for winding him up into a state of anticipation when it turns out Bob snuffs it. Hey ho. Ah, bless you... The Sentry isn't dead!!! One thing I've learnt about Marvel is that anything can happen and anyone can come back! I love Siege 'cos, even though my fave character was 'killed', it was the fight that I'd always wanted to see- The Sentry loosing it, totaly loosing it and going ape-sh1t. No one could stop him. He ripped Ares in half for crying out loud! He killed Loki! It is sad, though, how he was manipulated by Osborn, but I guess that that's the Sentry's weakness. The manifestation of The Void during the end fight was terrifying, awe inspiring! At the very end, though, I really got the impression that Sentry let Thor kill him. He'll be back, one day. Also, the pain of Sentry being 'killed' was eased by the return of Steve Rogers, whome I have a huge man-crush on.

How surprising. -Ralph Again, the mind destroyingness of Sentry's 'death' was eased by the fact I got to see the fight I'd always wanted to see. The Sentry, twisted into a monster by Osborn, going nuts and destroying everything. A simple story, in a way, but then I'm fairly simple. The Sentry isn't dead. He's having a holiday on the Sun.

Good point about the writing for the Sentry. I hadn't really noticed it before 'cos I was so enjoying seeing the character being twisted by Osborn and become an unstoppable weapon. And ofcourse going totally Void on us and destroying everything and everyone around him. That's the story that, in a weird almost morbid way, I'd always wanted to see: How could they stop the Sentry if he truely lost it? More can be writen for the Sentry when he returns!

I see now that Essential Captain America volume 5 exists. Good, been waiting on that. Want to read the mad Kirby return stuff but not in the expensive colour trades. This must be acquired!

WHSmiths has a BOGO Half Price - so nabbed Captain Britain vol 4 (nice mix of stories going into the whole Fury towards the end) and REAL think Planet Hulk Omnibus I have already nabbed around 15+ TPB from library...some much reading to do On that note, just read a Flash trade with the Human Race and Black Flash in it - cracking stuff

From the library, read Conan vol 9 in which Conan fights crocodiles. Roy Thomas never gets the due he deserves.
Also, Complete* Next Men volume 1. the 2112 prequel is enjoyable tosh. The series proper, however, is bollocks. It has some interesting ideas and starts well but degenerates into sub-par x-men knock-off nonsense.
-Ralph
*I will ignore that IDW can't spell the word properly on the actual book.

Meanwhile Phil finally has his hands on a copy of Deadpool & Cable Ultimate Collection v3 In this volume Cable's been nabbed by the X-Men so you in effect get a Deadpool solo volume, which in effect killed the title. But what a great set of issues. Maybe not up to the level of V1 but still a good decent read.
The Deadpool & Cable volumes have been a highlight of the year for me in what I'm feeling has been a generally poor year for Marvel's trades.
