Oooh, sounds like it does then. Wait 30 years for a reprint of the Thorpe issues and two turn up at once. That'll lower the value of some MSH issues.

Good, glad you enjoyed it.
Amazon have mailed me to say the X-Force HC is now due 15th Nov. Still not sure if it exists but it does look like a professional cover make-up

Meanwhile Phil finally has his hands on a copy of Deadpool & Cable Ultimate Collection v3 In this volume Cable's been nabbed by the X-Men so you in effect get a Deadpool solo volume, which in effect killed the title. But what a great set of issues. Maybe not up to the level of V1 but still a good decent read. The Deadpool & Cable volumes have been a highlight of the year for me in what I'm feeling has been a generally poor year for Marvel's trades. Liz sat down and read these - she loved them.

Which trades follow Death of Captain America volume 3? As usual, Marvel's website not being helpful.

Thanks for the list there Phil. That will come in handy for me come payday I think. (I sense a bit of investment in some trades coming up - I could do with some more Cap and I made the mistake of reading Andy's copy of the first trade of the recent Iron Fist series, and now I think I need to be buying some of that).

After a TWO MONTH wait for them to get stock, I've just cancelled my Avengers: Under Seige order with Amazon and ordered it from eBay.

How long have I been telling you all that Brubaker/Fraction Iron Fist is brilliant? A fair while now, and I had been meaning to give it a look at some point, so I thank you for pointing me in the direction of it. Karl

As early as page 2! Imortal Iron Fist V1 showed up. Oooh, it's good squishy. Adds quite a bit to to the Iron Fist back story that we didn't already know which can seem somewhat odd, but the way the comic is done is great. Recomended.

Captain America: Two Americas showed up this morning.
I'm a little worried by Marvel's trade output next year. I'm not seeing much in the way of new Essentials. I've not bought that many new ones this year either: Defenders 5, FF 8, Dazzler 2 & Avengers 7. No Spider Man (ASM, MTU or PPtSSM), no X-Men/Factor, no MTIO, no PMIF.... and none on the horizon either.
Ilook into the crystal ball and see:
Cap Marvel 2 Thor 5 Cap A 6 coming plus some reprints. And two of those aren't out till April. More Essentials Marvel!

Also picked up In The Mountains of Madness - an adaptation of the HP Lovecraft novel by I N J Culbard.
Pretty good so far. He's also done some adaptations of Sherlock Holmes stories as well as The Picture of Dorian Gray. On the strength of this I may check them out.

Captain America: Two Americas: oh that's clever. You expect this book to be all about Steve and Bucky. First part - Who will wear the shield - is, but the rest is all about Bucky and the 50s Cap. Great stuff as ever.

Was the Waid & Wieringo FF run the one that was liked by a few people here? It's getting the Ultimate Collection treatment.

Catching up on my Cap America, The Man with No Face and Road to Reborn* have now been consumed. It was so nice to see Gene Colan back on interior art again. Shame it wasn't properly inked but his craft still shows through.
I have managed successfully to avoid all spoilers as to how Rogers gets back! I hope to get into Reborn itself soonish.

Captain America: Reborn. Oh well, the Brubaker and co run had to have a clunker at some point. Not a patch on the 10 previous trades. I found this to be really boring and predictable in all honestly, with dull art which is bizarrely composed, often missing the focal point of what the reader should be looking at. The art really does not flow at all from panel to panel.

Captain America: The Man with No Face: Bought for reading on the 'plane down to Surrey. Ended up being read on the 'plane and then re-read on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Not only has the current run successfully reinvented Captain America as a viable "legacy" character, but it has done so by turning a footnote in Cap's modern history into a viable and interesting character in his own right - the marquee value of the legacy notwithstanding. Great stuff, that works both as a superhero piece and as a "hollywood espionage" affair.
