Captain America v1 and Winter Soldier v1 quality stuff as ever and you know what you're getting from Brubaker with these. Yeah that makes the format a little predictable but it's still all good entertaining stuff

Essential X-Factor v5 in hand
Good news: Portacio!
Bad News: Grey scaled :-( But better than some I've seen. Disapointing as was hoping for clean and crisp.

I see Essential Defenders v7 on the runway: www.amazon.co.uk/Essential-Defenders-7-Alan-Kupperberg/dp/0785184058/528 pages...... Hmmmmm. OK there's 27 issues left to reprint. 27 issues x 22 pages is 594 pages. so this obviously hasn't got everything in especially as 150 & 151 are double sized (638 pages) I reckon they'll pad these last two volumes out a bit with the Beauty & the Beast, Iceman & Gargoyle Limited series. 3 series. 4 issues each. 22 pages each. Another 264 pages. up to 902 pages Another page per cover.... 39 pages 941 pages. Throw in X-Factor 1. Double sized. 45 pages inc cover. 986 pages. a few blanks to make sure everything is in the right place, index pages, house ads and I think we've got 2 volumes worth there

Regret getting the Iceman HC now.

Why regret? You have the amazing Iceman story without all of that Defenders rubbish!

Edinburger Works had a whole new slew of cheap trades, HC's and Essentials today. Though I shock my fists at the copies of 'Gambit Classic'. Two words which should never be together!

Art Adams looks glorious in B&W and the Liefeld issue is quite good, his Art Adams influence quite prominent in this issue.

Once again I proclaim my love for Gerber Defenders. Essential Defenders 2 and 3 but I have money for a HC Marvel.
The Liefield and Adams in that X-Factor volume are superb. The rest.....

Now now, I like the Paul Smith art, although at the end when it's just layouts from him it suffers and let us not speak of Rich Buckler.

The Smith art isn't a touch on his earlier stuff for UXM. I lay a portion of the blame at the pens of the inker

Hmmm. Gerber. While I fully acknowledge he was a very talented chap and had many splendid ideas, his writing style never did it for me.

Spider-Man: Sinister Six
Great book, some classic Stan Lee and Steve Ditko art from the first annual, and then several issues of ASM by David Michelinie and Erik Larsen.
Forgot how much I loved Erik's Spider-Man work.

Yeah, the two limited series (The HC in The Works is called Prince of Power). The later graphic novel was printed in another volume (Full Circle), which is not in The Works. Many years later a conclusion entitled Twilight of a God was published.
