Bought four Hickman Avengers trades this morning (Avengers 1-3, New 1) to bring me up to date when the next volume of each comes out this month. Big shame these aren't being Panini'd and I think it will cause them trouble down the line.
A lot of the titles I have been buying in trades are ending: Cornell Wolverine (v3 showed up a week and a bit back) and Fraction/Aja Hawkeye. I've got the first two volumes of the new Iron Fist on order but I'm a bit worried as that's got to live up to the Fraction/Aja version which was superb.
Moon Knight v1 ordered due to good word of mouth on the Ellis issues. Savage Hulk 1 ordered - Alan Davis writing and drawing.... oh dear he's not doing v2.
After that it's Epic Collections all the way, although for the last third of this year the Epic Collections are all volume 1s.... including a few titles that haven't been done before: Moon Knight, Silver Surfer, Wolverine & X-Men.
*IF* They're planning to do X-Men I'd be tempted to make the next volume one from c154-c167 (including Magik) to get the Brood stuff, and the start of Paul Smith's run, in print.

200 is double sized so.... But yes, that creates an odd jump when the X-Men just appear in 200. I just got to this point today - and it does indeed create a very odd jump! -Jim

So Gentlemen: The Phil guide to buying Stern Avengers in Trade. His first issue is 228 in Trial of Yellowjacket but the Amazing Spider-Man annual in Absolute Vision 1 occurs before it. Wow, I've really got into Roger Stern Avengers this year, and have now acquired all of the above, plus Heart of Stone where he is credited with some of the plots. Great stuff. My Marvel comics collection has gone from being dominated by Transformers floppies a couple of years ago to now being almost entirely composed of collected editions, more or less equally divided between Transformers (all the pre-G2 Titan collections plus the annuals, the Complete Works, the Death's Head trades, IDW's UK Classics, and the TF Universe and animated movie TPBs), G.I. Joe (IDW reprints of Marvel #1-80, Special Missions #1-14, the yearbooks and the TF crossovers, plus the Order of Battle TPB), Avengers (as detailed above plus Secret Wars I and II) and X-Men (Uncanny #244-317 and 1991 series #1-37, mostly in giant-size hardbacks). And that doesn't count the earlier Avengers and X-Men stuff in the pocket books. Hardly any floppies remain, just covering the odd gap in trades such as in the 1991 X-Men series and 'The Big Broadcast of 2006'. Not bad going for someone who claims not to be a comics fan, eh? It is one of THE best comics runs.
If you liked Heart of Stone track down the previous volume Knights of Wundagore. Byrne art throughout.

Moon Knight (Ellis) v1 Moon Knight Epic Collection Thor: The God of Thunder Epic Collection Miracleman Book 2: The Red King Syndrome
And, a book I've had ordered since 2013 with more delays than the TF Legacy Collection:
Hawkeye v3: L. A. Woman

Read the Ellis Moon Knight last night. Like his Secret Avengers it's a series of "done in ones" and it's entertaining stuff. BUT ... It did make me think Batman quite frequently.

I buy a reasonable number of trades but came across something this week I'd not noticed before - the difference in quality between the Marvel original prints of trade paperbacks, and the Panini UK equivalents. I bought Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 from amazon, got a UK edition, and then Vol 2 from a comic seller and got a US edition. Oh my word. The UK ones have much stiffer covers and a better quality of paper. The difference is phenomenal. Think most of the time I'm buying trades that don't get UK specific versions so I'd never noticed it. Annoyingly too the spines are different so they don't stack nicely.

If you pick up a Panini get it from Amazon/Book Depository where it's never been on the shelves. A quick look at a Waterstones shelf and any Panini book that has been thumbed through has severe creasing and the glue binding starts to get affected. Andy

I think that's something that is difficult to avoid given that Moon Knight is essentially a knock-off Batman. The book was pretty good though, I do love Ellis' done in one tales and have done since his and Templesmith's run on Fell. Andy

Robocop vs Terminator arrived.
Bloody brilliant collection, now I usually don't like modern recolouring but Steve Oliff has done a bang up job on updating his colour art from back in the day.
Probably the finest comic crossover tale ever done and well worth seeking out.

The Kaare Kyle Andrews Iron Fist v1 arrived yesterday (Jiffy Bagged! thank you Amazon :-( NOT!)
It's not Fraction/Aja Iron Fist but it's definitely got "something", certainly enough for me to come back for a second volume.

Amazing X-Men v2 delivered TODAY, yes on Sunday.
Hadn't realised it was by Craig Kyle & Chris Yost :-) loved their stuff since X-Force and their New X-Men is so so good. And a quick flick through reveals Aurora is in it as well as Northstar :-)
So I'm feeling particularly well disposed to the book even before I start it.

Fab volume, well worth a read. The only minor complaint is that the writers appear in places to have got Aurora and Northdtar's personalities switched but I suppose you could put that down to recent experiences softening Northstar and, let's face it, Aurora's always been a bit changeable. Other than that Alpha Flight comes over very strongly with one of their major foes (let's face it there aren't many) central to the plot. Kyle & Yost can't resist slipping in a new X-Men and in this case it's Rockslide (yay) but they also manage to write the core (original) New X-Men team of Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler & Wolverine very well. Can't remember the last time all four of those were in a comic together.
Not sure who's doing the next arc, it's a bit rotating creative teams on this book, but I'd be happy to see Kyle & Yost back for more and indeed wouldn't say no to an Alpha Flight from them.
Oh and the opening story, by Kathryn Immonen, is great too. Really it was inevitable that if you put Iceman and Firestar on the same book that Spiderman would show up :-)

And X-Men Annual 9, which in turn leads into UXM 200 which you've already got.
All four of those 22nd April titles are worth having. If you've never read Wolverine, that's what he's doing from UXM 168 to the start of UXM 172. The Vision book is fab and Daredevil is classic stuff.

As a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies I've bought some of the comic tie-in trades. This week I bought the Age of Ultron Prelude. It collects Marvel's The Avengers Cinematic Adaptation #1-2, Avengers: Cinematic Infinite Comic #1, Avengers (1963) #57-58, Avengers (1998) #22 and Avengers #12.1.
Huge range of styles and quality. Avengers #57-58 is the highlight, with the first appearance of the Vision. I really don't care for the material from the 1998 series though. All the fun is gone. Still, it gives you an idea of how Marvel has evolved over the ages.
