Why doesn't Jubilee cure herself of being a vampire like Storm did (by going "aaa i dont want to be a vampire ok")

Different writing team, they wanted the vampire thing to have some sort of impact, they have no clue what to do with Jubilee, or simply just because.
I don't know.

one of my favourite ever comic books is old man logan, I think it is so well written so today I toddled off to ok comics in leeds and purchased old man logan 0, its the TPB of the new ongoing series, starting right where mark millars version ended.
the story is brilliant really enjoyed it and thought it was more than enough to keep my idea of the world and what was happening going, the artwork is a little ify but once I got over that I really enjoyed it!

I came across a book of madness in HMV. It was a colouring book version of Age of Ultron (the Marvel comic not the unrelated film). For seven of your Earth pounds you too can colour in page upon page of lovingly rendered rubble.

A kind offer, but I shall turn down your offer of some lube, I shall not colour in this book, like some kind of tube, I need not colour in someone elses well rendered rubble, I have other deadlines I can't miss or there will be trouble.

saga is about 2 different species completely at war and then one of each has a child together and goes on the run, its very clever and well written.
its the new project from Brian Vaughn who wrote Y the Last Man and hes also written a lot of sci fi stuff for tv (under the dome and lost)
Elephant men is set in 2200 and war has broken out and people have basically trained killer animals(elephants, rhinos, zebras etc) to talk and fight for them, the war is over and now they have to try and live amongst society - absolutely bonkers and crazy but fantasticly drawn and written

Just finished the third and final volume of Jim Valentino's GOTG run; it's a bit uneven but still generally entertaining. The worst thing is a couple of early issue's of Herb Trimpe's 90s-imitation art. It's so awkward, the poses and anatomy are often sub-Liefeld; even then though, the layouts are still very well done.

Yes, that was...not good.
Loved that era of GotG. I do wish it hadn't been curtailed by the beef between Valentino and the Editor.

I read somewhere that there will be further post-Valentino collections starting this year. Worth a look? Or does it lose it a bit when he leaves?

It loses a bit when he leaves, but it's decent enough till about issue fifty.
Kevin West takes over pencils and it's Michael Gallagher on writing. Some nice touches early on in their run.

Colosus: God's Country arrived today. Really looking forward to this as I have no memory of it bar not finishing buying all the Marvel Comics Presents issues that contain it.
Rick Leonardi art, who I never liked when I was younger but have come to appreciate much more in recent years. We need the X-Men stories between Fall of the Mutant and Inferno collected in floppy trade so I can read his Genosha story again.

Loved Rick Leonardi's work ever since I read the issue of ASM that was reprinted in the Spider Man special in 1985 by Marvel UK. Spider-Man 2099 was one of the gems of Marvel in the 1990's.

Andy Yeah the Leonardi art is great, as is the Bolton & Brigman stuff on the reprinted Classic X-Men issues. The Origins issue is a bit of a retcon towards the end, remove the figure standing with Xavier and you're good, written by Chris Yost who's a writer that, for my money, REALLY gets the X-Men and what makes it tick. Not really sure about the main story though. It's a bit heavy handed with it's message but equally may have some relevance in the current political climate.

Just pulled this off the shelf to read following both Absolute Vision volumes I was right: Legacy of Thanos is trade of the year. Picks straight up from Absoloute Vision with the epilogue where the Avengers start to feel the reprecussions of the Vision's actions while catching up with Captain marvel who's been sent on a fool's erand but has inadvertantly stumbled on something. Then it's my favourite Terminus battle before a certain ex Galactus Herald shows up straight from the recent Spider Man: Ghosts of the Past epic collection before we hop into space for a game changing story with the Skrulls and a superb crossover with that year's Fantastic Four annual and some SWII crossover action. Superb. Top Avengers line up: Cap, Wasp, Starfox, Captain Marvel, Hercules and the returning Black Knight. Not the most famous and in many cases not the most powerful Avengers ever but this is probably my Avanegers line up. The later part of the book will be familiar to Secret Wars II readers, which is where I first read most of it, but the earlier parts weren't published there, save for some Captain Marvel stripmined from it. Hat off to Roger Stern now drawn by the returnuing John Buscema who makes an ideal pairing with Tom Palmer. BUY THIS TRADE. Gonna have to dig out Once & Future Kang and my Siege HC. And with this volume EVERY Stern Avenges issue has been collected in trades, with just a few not having been done in softcover. what I hadn't noticed is the front cover is the Avengers annual and the back is the FF annual contained within. Since they both show different angles of the same scene you get a fabulous effect turning the book over!

Grabbed the Infinity Watch trade on Monday. First 22 issues for £30 quid from my LCS.
Good times, the difference in energy between these issues and The Infinity Entity is palpable.

I have sadly found Cosmic Jim's Marvel stuff off the last few years to be rather dull and perfunctory. Last time his stuff had energy was the Thanos ongoing series (well the 6 issue he did) before he parted ways with Marvel for a while.
