As mentioned in the Zoom chat, tonight Martin is reading 'Black Widow Prelude' TPB, which contains:
Black Widow Prelude #1-2 (better than average MCU tie-in comic, as contains new story rather than straight lifting from movies) Tales of Suspense #52-53 (BW's first appearances) Avengers #43 (not read before - Red Guardian's first appearance) Avengers #196 (already got, in 'Heart of Stone' TPB) The Web of Black Widow #1

I think you would like the Mark Waid/Chris Samnee Black Widow series.

'DC Meets Looney Tunes' (ordered during the TMUK Zoom before last) is here. I shall try to judge it on its own merits and not hold against it the fact that the Amazon description is inaccurate, and it does not contain everything promised by Amazon.

Lobo was always comedy violence anyway, a point lost on a lot of people. The two minis Lobo and Lobo's Back, and the Paramilitary X-Mas special are regular re-reads, quite juvenile but entertaining. The X-Mas special has the Easter Bunny put out a hit on Santa.

I can't stand Lobo. He is DC's Deadpool.

Oh dear. Some of my trades did not do well in storage and the pages had stuck together. Some tears when I tried to prise them apart.

I am currently reading it!
I have to say, though, that it isn't doing a lot for me. I've never been a Superman fan, and even Byrne near his peak isn't enough to get me fully on board. I also don't think Giordano is the best inker for him. It's fine, I'm kind of enjoying it, I'm just not as engaged as I would have hoped.
I did enjoy Byrne's take on Batman in the issue where they meet for the first time, though. Seems a shame he never got a Batman run.

It's okay Giordano is only there for the MoS mini as I recall and i think it's Terry Austin and Karl Kesel after that iirc.
Giordiano's inks are a bit light and dry on Byrne I find, as an aside i think he could have worked well with John Romita Jr around his Man of Fear era work.

Has Marvel ever released a collection of their Holiday specials? I.e. a paperback that collects the various Christmas specials and one-shots that they've put.
It's probably the heatstroke & dehydration talking, but I just want to read 20th century comics with snow in them at the moment.

Trial run by the looks of it, does that suggest that 1 of the Marvel ones will come to an end.
