Picked up the trade of the new Amazing Spider-Man run, Zeb Wells and JRJr. Cracking stuff, glad JRJr is back home at Marvel.

Collection of the Spawn/Batman crossovers from the 90's acquired along with The Eternals collection by Jack Kirby. Realised I had the issues digitally but not the actual book.

Burns liked the look of a couple of covers that he saw when I pulled them out of PRH while he was here. We now know a little more about each of them thanks to Amazon.de, which always seems to have Marvel book details first Avengers: War Across Time : Davis, Alan, Levitz, Paul 97813029 2573 4 www.amazon.de/dp/1302925733Silver Surfer: Ghost Light : De Landro, Valentine, Jennings, John 97813029 3304 3 Silver Surfer: Ghost Light www.amazon.de/dp/1302933043

Ordered a few books from Hachette - one arrived, it was the Tales of the Green Lantern Corps collection, containing the 3 issue mini and all the GLC back up strips and one offs including the ones that Geoff John's strip-mined. Cracking book with some fine art from 2000ad stalwarts Dave Gibbons and Kevin O'Neill.

I think I only have a copy of the newer colouring these days. I might stump for it at £20. There's a couple of remainder editions on eBay but not sure I want one with a red pen mark on the spine.

The remainder mark on mine is on the slipcase and it's just on the barcode. Sadly the John Higgins original colouring is on a more newsprint style paper, rougher and toothier and not glossy the way the original one was and as such it does affect how it looks - so keep your original versions those of you who still have one. 3 copies still available www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115573171037

So the book is made up of different paper stocks?

So the book is made up of different paper stocks? Yep - shiny glossy paper for the Bolland remaster and the Alan Moore script and the rougher paper for the original version. They did similar for Batman: Year One - so you had the newsprinty version with the original colours and the better paper for the redone colours for the TPB.

I may be compiling a list of ones I need. -Ralph I have 17 Marvel Epic Collection books. I have 12 Marvel Omnibus books. Must...have...more...make...a...plan... -Ralph I refuse, however, to do a spreadsheet. Need to make a list of Tooth related books to grab this year too. Ralph wants a proper library. -Ralph

In theory and for year one - YES. For The Killing Joke - no as it was never printed on Newsprint and the colours not done with that in mind, it looks off in print compared to the original printings. A minor annoyance as I have the original still.

Picked up the first Astro Boy omnibus from Dark Horse. I'm a couple of stories in, and enjoying it immensely.

Spawn/Batman - The Deluxe Edition. Contains all three crossovers, original art from the new one and some from the DC one with Klaus Janson art. I'm a mark, but it's a very pretty book.
The Frank Miller scripted original along with Spawn 11 - are probably the first signs of Frank Miller, clearly being absolutely done with superhero books as he's clearly ripping the piss. Todd still isn't much better than functional as a writer.

That crossover was the first Spawn I read and probably even the first Frank Miller. Bought the monthly for a while after (the issue 21 debacle). Doubt I could read it now.

I got on board with Spawn 1, as I dug McFarlane's art but only picked up the odd issue as my local comic shop didn't get a lot in at the time. I did pick up the titan trades a few years later when they happened. The art was clearly what sold the book, not sure if I could be bothered to even try and reread it now. Fair play to him that it's still going.

Wouldn't think so, Marvel don't tend to use a cover that isn't in the book any more. Besides, as linked above, there is a Wonder Man Early Years Omnibus on the runway prhcomics.com/book/?isbn=9781302953522 that stops shy of this material

Not the first time Marvel have tried to reprint GJ material, they were going to do Hulk 2099 as a True Believer one shot until it got flagged to Rich Johnston.

It's obviously another collection put out to support the series, and my money would be Omnibus 2. The difference between the Hulk True Believers and here is that Jones is now out of prison bleedingcool.com/comics/gerard-jones-was-released-from-jail-in-december-last-year/ .... though I'm not sure that distinction will matter to many people. I will be highly surprised if this book, whatever it turns out to be, reaches market
