Royal Mail won second place. Yodel got the wooden spoon.
Golly. That was exciting. No idea why the seller sent three similar items from the same location on the same day via three different postal companies.
Added a mild thrill through.

Just a shame there really is only maybe half a volume's worth of good content in there...

Oh I know, but I have had a hankering to re-read it all of late and this is the cheapest way to do it. I wouldn't buy Epics or Omnibii of it.

I like the early Jack stuff, but you could tell it clearly wasn't the favourite of either Stan or Jack. Also I do think the abandoning of the team uniform was a bad move.

Cheap reading copies of Essential Marvel Saga secured. Not actually read this before. Back in the day it didn't interest me but I have more of a taste for odd stuff like this now. -Ralph On volume 2. This is a curious beast and hails from a time when ready access to older comics was not so easy. I therefore find it intriguing to see how they were repackaged. Despite being a redundant 'clip show' comic (from a 2024 perspective) it is surprisingly readable. The editing down of the old comics has been done with some skill. I can see why Saga has retreated into the obscure history of comics (and only got one reprint in 2008) but it's fine for what it is. -Ralph

Now that I look them up, I do recall the Wolverine and Spider-Man Saga minis from back in the day. Wolverine run secured and watching a lot of the Spidery-Man ones.
Ah. Yes. I remember the newer ones now. Yeah, they were shite. Zero effort.

There's been a few aborted attempts at sequential collecting before now.
To say the comic community has little faith in DC going the distance is understating matters somewhat ...

Why are DC so rubbish at everything? They seem to want to do everything marvel do but keep cocking it up.

DC currently live in eternal fear of WB shutting them down, hence many of the odd decisions of the last few years.

Not so strange when you see what WB have done in recent years, coupled with the underperforming of the DC cinematic universe in terms of what they wanted for box office returns.

Spider-Man: Life Story.
Good premise: what if Peter Parker had just aged in real-time so would now be in his 70's?
Fuck me sideways. The writer completely misses the point. Instead, Peter Parker has 60 years of ABSOLUTE MISERY. He has an AWFUL LIFE. TERRIBLE THINGS HAPPEN TO HIM.
All those around him HAVE AN AWFUL LIFE.
The villains have AWFUL LIVES TOO.
His clone turns up. He too has a life of ABSOLUTE MISERY and DIES HORRIBLY.
So fucking grimdark!
Miles Morales? He had an AWFUL LIFE too. So did EVERY SUPER HERO.
THE VIETNAM WAR RAN FOR OVER 10 YEARS BECAUSE PETER PARKER DID NOT ENLIST. MILLIONS SUFFER.
EVIL WINS.
SHIIIIITE!
I bet it won awards.
