They are fun reads and you don't need colour to read profiles. Part of the fun is coming across more obscure characters and finding 'hidden' gems. I regret losing my copies during a house move.

It is of the size of Omnibus that is not too thick so readable.

Was out in comic shops this week. In book shops Tuesday week after next. Phil has a £38.17 preorder at Amazon for it, RRP is £62.50 They currently want £40.62 www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Handbook-Marvel-Universe-Omnibus/dp/130292060XNot expecting to see that beat. Would really like to see the deluxe edition and update get nice colour reprints. And be available digitally: I can't see the Omnibus on Comixology :-( |

I would prefer nice bumper softcover reprints of all the Handbooks in colour but this Omnibus will do for now.
Handbooks always seem to be ideal for the digital format. A natural fit.

Phil alerted me to it being cheap on Books etc. Alas, I could not jump on it straightaway as payday is a week away and the new shoes had taken priority in bad weather. I now see it jumped up to £62.50 and went out of stock. Amazon price has jumped from £40 to £58. Looks like I have missed the boat on this one!

I greatly enjoyed the recent OFFICIAL HISTORY OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE in single issues, especially the Handbook-like back matter and had planned to double dip for the trade but I see it has annoyingly been released in treasury size. Damn it!

It has arrived and is a thing of beauty. My only complaint is that it has the wrong logo on the cover and side. Booo.
Very surprised to see ROM's entry in there! Was that in the Essential? I lost ALL my Essential books during the Great Storage Disaster of 2010.
