You know I said this as a joke (obviously), but can you imagine the chaos and anarchy that would erupt in the fandom if it was?
And my little smartass prediction would have been one of the greatest hail mary pass predictions of all time.

I was right! Pretenders now, combiners last!

The popular belief is that the pretenders "count" as deluxes.
In hand, absolutely not. Optimus' monkey shell dwarfs TR Broadside in both size and mass, and Broadside is a pretty large voyager. Megatron's grand max shell is also larger. Add to it the legend, minicon, one "stolen" weapon, one new weapon (I admit I may be wrong, but I don't recognize it), and a massive amount of paint, I'd say Optimus counts as an ultra. Megatron... given it's a stolen shell, and two stolen weapons, calling him a deluxe is a bit more fair. Though I'd say it's still more reasonable to call him a voyager.

I mean massive amounts of paint. They don't just glob over or ignore patches of fur like Hasbro does in retail releases. Every bit that requires paint gets it. All organic bits are colored consistantly. All metal bits are colored appropriately (save for a couple bits on the knees). Vehicle looks gorgeous, as does the robot. Again, everything painted exactly as it should. Head sculpt is great, and is a teeny tiny Laserrod head, instead of just a nice looking generic Optimus head (which would have been easier to do).
Megatron: not nearly as much to say. It's nice. Shell, everything is nicely and appropriately painted, with the same eye for detail as the monkey shell. Legs are amusingly painted like his G1 gun handle legs, and that goofy detail makes me smile. Part of me wished they'd chosen Iguanus' shell though. Tank and robot are a nice counterpart to the g2 green holo deco they did. While I kinda wish they'd done the purple Hero deco, I'm also glad they did the grey Combat Hero deco instead. Spacewarp is REALLY nice. I've not been a fan of this group of minicons, feeling they were pretty halfassed, but she came out really nice. It also helps that her mold is the best of them.

It would have been nice of him to show HOW TO PUT THE DAMN THINGS INTO THE SHELL. They made up an entire new set of instructions for op/gorilla shell, but recycle the useless grand max instructions for megatron. And he was the one shipped outside of the shell.

It's not the "official" way (whatever unrevealed way that is), but I kajiggered Megatron, spacewarp, the new piece, the gun, and the sword all inside the shell.

Here's how to actually get him in shell:
I may do it my way for the loose ones I ship to you guys, so I can stash all the weapons inside the shell. (They all fit with kajiggering)

Enjoy it now, because apparently "kajiggering" is my word of the day, as I've used it at least two dozen times, after never having used it before in my life, and I'm going to bed soon.

Sunnivabitch! Leave it to FP to throw in one last fuck up for the road. Well, there are worse things. I'll repurpose mine to R-Blade.

For a year Ive had to keep my underwhelmedness to myself, Im happy that now the world can share it with me. Spoiler I had hoped with no expectation that they might have been able to use Skydives body which would have made for a pretty decent Jetfire. Instead they seem to have been inspired by Universe legends Jetfire, which is naff, but so naff I sort of like it.

The really odd part of all this is that Counterpunch looks kind of good.

Okay, so we got ours in today. Question, how long are we gonna keep spoilering the bonus figure? It'll be a month before it gets into y'all's hands, and many of the news sites (especially the bastards of TFW, who put it on the main page in their ongoing "FU" to club members) are quite vocal about what it is. Hell, I got texted what it was before I even knew they had been sent out. I mean, I don't mind keeping it up for those of you who think you can get away without being spoiled for that long. I'm not at all complaining about monitoring my talking about it. So, Counterpunch DOES look nice. But it's still really pointless. If they felt they needed to use this mold, I think Slicer would have been just as nice, similar deco, a step up from the previous go (which was the best they could do at the time), and no new headsculpt needed. Could have been allotted somewhere else. Toxitron is about as nice as that mold can look. It was never my favorite, and this is now the fifth version I have, so I don't have much to say. Really nice deco consisting of normally really ugly and unexciting colors. But they still work well, no thanks in small part to their unusualness and theme of the character. His new headsculpt is really nice. Maybe the nicest one of the four this mold has. But it's also as painfully pointless as waisting a new headsculpt on SG Blurr. I sorta feel they should have given the new headsculpt to Wreckage to make him unique, and used Battlecore Prime's nifty underused head. Starscream... meh. It's a nice deco. The mold's a bit long in the tooth, and I forgot that the new Takara heads were ugly as sin. Starscream's head is really hard tosee on Ghostscream, but here it's bright as day. He is REALLY grumpy looking, and through no fault of FP, is not a good sculpt IMO.

Pinwig craves Toxitron.
Pinwig may have to sell organs to try and get hold of some of these obscure CW figures.

I was genuinely a bit excited for it! The mystery had been kept well, it's essentially FunPub's swan-song figure. I thought it would be something brilliantly left field and obscure. SG Starscream. It just had to be SG didn't it. sigh-Jim
