That photo has been around for a while (or one very similar) I think it was a mock up by a Takara designer so there is still hope for a proper MP Magnus.

G2 Megatron has always been purple in Japan. Then only time he's been green was for the sole release of the BIG tank as Megastorm in BWII

The TF industry never passes up a repaint opportunity! They can do a G2 Megatron figure in purple, in green (with optional Megastorm stickers) and in "G1 colours/unused urban camo prototype" grey!

What do you Mother Hubbers want from a MP Ultra Magnus? Size? Weapons? etc. Made from a MP10 inner robot? I don't want that. I'd rather something like 6" Titaniums G1 Ultra Magnus, where the cab has no seperate robot mode, it just transforms back into the body of the main robot. I think otherwise he'll be too big, and articulation, and most importantly the 'style' of him, would suffer.

I assume the blacked out ads are because the product is not yet fully designed, but they want to start building hype, and releasing a silhouette is basically another free advertising gimmick. It's all about the hype! Get people talking about it.

The mini mp op painted white, and a trailer to turn him super mode. Best of both worlds, since I couldn't get the US release of the optimus. Added bonus, I get it in the prettier UM white and powder blue. How that matter, skip the trailer and just give me the cab painted white, and knock it down to around $60, and I'm good to go! |

I'd like him to capture the lanky, rangy, look of the animation and cartoon model. I'd like the arm articulation to allow him to throw the wide crosses and backhands that Magnus used in the comics. But look, now then, wait a secondment- new Optimus, Sideswipe, Soundwave, the cassettes, Prowl, Wheeljack.... done us proud so far haven't they! (If you like the 'New MP' that is). I have high hope they will -therefore- do right by Magnus, and give us a non-White-Optimus-G1-tastick MP figure.
It's quite important for the New MP line that they get Magnus right actually, if you think about it. He's the biggest name since Optimus Prime.
