For anyone confused, Ralph is referencing a film starring Tom Baker shortly before he became The Doctor entitled - Freakmaker aka The Mutations and has Donald Pleasence feeding a rabbit to a carnivorous tree.
It's totally his Fourth Doctor audition piece none of this Sinbad pish!

Thanks to this thread, and discovering my own source of Cloud-y goodness... I now have a Cloud Rodimus myself: Get to da Twittah! And much as I am cursing Turnbull right now for breaking my resolve, I also don't regret it one bit. He's fantastic. And having seen Generations Springer in person, too, I have to say that this deco works so much better. My only regret is that he doesn't have any wrist blasters - I think that's the only remolding that he could have done with, really. But other than that, he's fantastic. Even the bat-shit and incomprehensible comic...

I finally saw Cloud Rodimus in the plastic this weekend. Very, very nice toy. I'd agree that it makes a much better Rodimus than it does a Springer - as Springer the legs seem much too slender. There just doesn't seem to be room in there for the over-built servos that Springer is supposed to have. As Rodimus the thin, lean, look of the whole toy fits the bill much better.
I think of that general "platform" he may have edged into a joint first place with Sandstorm, leaving Springer to tag along behind.

Maybe it looks different in hand, but in pics it just doesn't look pointy/sleek enough for Rodimus to me. Too many odd clunky bits sticking out and not enough smooth surfaces.

Oh yeah, he looks Rod enough, all right. His legs are actually quite long, which gives him a sleek look, and most of the bulk is in his upper torso, which gives him a good, heroic definition. It fits really well, actually. If I remember later I'll try and take some pictures...

I think he is a much better Rodimus than a Springer, the mould is much too slender for how I see Springer. The Botcon Springer I think has been the best to capture how I feel Springer should look. Bulky and powerful.

Ah yeah, I said that I'd take some photos of Rodders to show off his sleekness, didn't I? And then I didn't. Maybe this'll illuminate: Get to da Twittahs!Hmmm. Maybe. He *is* fairly lean, but it seems hard to capture properly. But yeah, in hand, he definitely feels the right shape for a Rodimus...

If so, this is great news for future eHobby exclusives.
Starscream is nice and shiny, but alas the mold is terrible!

It's a purple Whirl pretending to be the mightiest Decepticon of all. There is nothing to like about this blasphemy.
Except... £25 you say? How dedicated am I to my Shockwave collection...

I always liked the idea that Whirl was Shockwave's son who was a teenage tearaway and joined the Autobots, and this made Shockwave sad and a single tear dropped down his optic and he tries to do dad stuff to get Whirl to come back to him but he's bad at it because he's an evil machine of logic.

So my Shockwave came in today, and he is gorgeous. He doesn't photograph well at all, actually. In photos, he comes off a tad lavender, but he's actually a very rich, and kinda dark purple.
If this doesn't do it for you as G1 Shockwave, he can work as RiD Shockwave or SG Whirl.

Having had Shockwave for a while now, I can't put him down. It's amazing how well it becomes Shockwave, without looking anything like him. And painting Whirl in these really dark purple tones with black accents, just really brings out something sinister in the mold. He looks cold and emotionless, but at the same time sinister and dangerous. Definitely my favorite version of the mold.

Dammit. "Goth metal fairy" almost convinced me to try and find my own... But I've never been a fan of Sky-Shark or his brethren (I know, I know - my soul is dead) so I think I'm safe. Does look purdy, though. :-)
