Claremont shouldn't have come back to the X-Men. I enjoyed X-Men Forever, but his two returns to the X-Books proper were not that great.

I enjoyed it, but V2 was a mistake coming so soon. It should have been rested for a while.

I quite enjoyed X-Men Forever Vol1 on a disposable tosh level, but I found it to be a bit of a "read twice" thing to be honest (which is no bad thing, sometimes comics should just be disposable entertainment). Vol.2 I didn't really get into though.

V2 would have worked better, had their been a longer gap between it starting and V1 ending.

Possibly, I just know that it was around the time of that and the Annual that the I stopped being engaged with the whole thing.

As did I.
It was a fine tosh 'read once' comic, but it felt like it was going on long past its natural end-point and I dropped it four issues into volume 2.

X-Factor Forever was pretty decent. The main story had some great art by Dan Panosian. There was a back up with the history of Apocalypse. The art on that was dreadful.
Didn't check out New Mutants Forever myself.

The backup for the X-Factor series had shudder-inducingly bad artwork, but the main story was quite fun I thought.
I completely forgot that the New Mutants one was coming out.....

Disposable Heroes on Ebay get most of my business due to good service. Alas, their ebay shop closes this month with a thinly veiled 'ebay won't let us link you to our website' message. I'll just switch to buying direct then.
Oh, ebay.

The new Daredevil #1 is utterly splendid and all should read. Great fun, well written, fabulous and clever art. Plus, extra story pages for the extra $. That's more like it.

The initial 4-issue Muppets comic by Roger Landridge is finally available for sale in the UK! Tis a 96p magazine from Marvel at $6. Picked it up last week. Hilarious.

I picked up ALPHA FLIGHT #0.1. Hmmmm, it was ok but lacked any kind of sparkle to it. Nice to see the old-line up but it didn't grab me I'm afraid. -Ralph On the way, as is the Alpha Flight Chaos War one shot we missed. Both were OK. I've now bought the Chaos War one shot 3 times (gave first copy away because it was coming in a trade, sold the trade and needed to rebuy) Sadly the shock ending of Fear Itself: Alpha Flight #1 had been given away to me beforehand. Competant enough though. Fear Itself: Alpha Flight #2 showed up today and provides some motivation for Heather's actions: she wants to get her daughter back. How that makes her blast Mac I don't know but there's a distinct hint she's been brainwashed too so I'll let that pass. No my real problem with this issue is the court room scenes that set the motivation up: The daughter has been placed with Heather's cousins. Cousins? ? ? Last time I checked her parents were still alive and even if they're not Alpha Flight 5, during the Shaman origin story, establishes that Heather has a large imeadiate family - why didn't the baby go to one of them? I know, I know, the baby needs to provide the obvious motivation but it doesn't quite fit her back story. Other than that good stuff, though there's something up with the Puck that's suddenly appeared. Deep breath..... Besides we all know that Byrne Alpha Flight > Mantlo Alpha Flight > all other Alpha Flight!

Out tomorrow (today via ipad) is DC's Batman Retroactive 90's special. Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle - THE Batman team.
Pick it up. New tale fits in to their previous run and the reprint is of the one off Trash story.

About as cheap as I can get them this side of being able to afford an iPad and therefore digital copies (hopefully in 2012). -Ralph

X-Force 13: Sorry really not feeling the love that I'm reading elsewhere for the Remender X-Force. The life is just gone from the title that was there during the Kyle/Yost issues. I feel it's cancellation from my pull list aproaching.
X-Factor 223 & 224 while X-Factor continues to be top notch every month, but in a way completely different from what you expect on a mutant book.
