Hello Andy, Yes that link looks the same, was it a 1999 UK release? What sort of price does the G1 version sell for?
Thanks for your help, Dave.

It was never actually released in the UK, due to the UK's toy safety laws Fortress Maximus has never been on sale in the UK in any version. It came out in Japan in 2000 iirc.
Depending on it's condition a G1 can go for more than £500. I've seen listings on ebay for £1000 for ones in really good condition with all the bits.

This later version is pretty much mint and as far as I can tell has all its accessories and the box is again mint, is there anybody on this forum dealing in G1 toys?
Thanks, Dave.

Welcome to the hub! You might want to check which way up the Autobot symbol on the tower is. That'll tell you it's county of origin. Correct way up=Japanese, wrong way=Korean. But both are official Transformers product. £300 is well worth it, it's a top top toy. My review can be found here in our review forum. Here's some photos of Spychanger Op in him. 3rd party versions of the guns and sword are available and well worth buying.

That's the RID colours that was offered in Previews - but was pulled due to not meeting US toy standards now - so this must be the Japan original, due to toy standards - not allowed the toy release in the UK due to not going out in the US now. Was it due to the missiles?

Was it due to the missiles? No, it failed the drop test. But unless you're planning on throwing it out of a second story window onto concrete, you'll be fine!

I guess from all the answers the toy is a Japanese version, the seller told me it was released in the UK? and is called Brave Maximus, is there anything to check for possible damage, missing items? My son is also collecting the G1 headmaster series, is there a good place to look for these items.
Thanks again, Dave.

The TFU link will show you everything that was included. Brave Maximus is the toy's Japanese name. It most certainly wasn't released in the UK. ebay is your best bet for Headmasters. TFU has pictures of them all at www.tfu.info/subgroup/headmasters.htmIf he's a Headmasters fan then look into aquiring the Headmaster Super Warriors set

Hey all I was just wondering if any of you guys have/had the RID purple dragon Megatron. I’ve seen this guy many times and have always thought the robot mode just looks awesome. As far as I can tell his bot mode and two headed dragon modes are pretty good, but it devolves into a mass of fan mode madness for the rest of his 4 to 8 modes (depending on mold I am led to believe). The reason I bring this up is I have an opportunity to grab one misb cheap. Is he worth nabbing? He does look like jolly good fun I’m sure I can make up some fan modes of my own as well... Oh and one hundred!!!!!! Muhahahahahahahahahaha!

He's a nice toy, worth grabbing. The jet and car modes are alright too. I actually want to pick a spaee up to customise into the unmade BW megatron botcon toy... Also IIRC the US version has the retooling for all 12 or whatever modes in both colour schemes.

yeah i caved. its in the post (well tomorrow it will be)
from what i have heard the hasbro version has the tooling for 10 modes as it bizarrely was a recolour of galvatron... the us market just used the one mold for both characters.
i just have the urge to pose him in hand mode holding a g1 megs in his pistol mode... ah simple pleasures of a simple mind.
im also interested in any fan modes i can knock up as he seems to be a prime candidate for such tomfoolery...

Oh right, I was thown by the lack of references to the two heads, and calling it Megatron! My mistake, I blame the cold.

hey i said two headed dragon in my first post!
heh its ok i probably should of called him gigatron.. but since it is the hasbro release it does say megatron on the box.
yeah i had the red beastwars dragon megatron for a while. i always thought the dragon mode was pretty awesome but never liked the bot mode, not a big fan of beast wars megs head sculpt for most of his toys. that and i can never seem to keep interest in leader size toys...
i must b the only person on the planet that was disappointed when i received my galaxy force megatron i was expecting a deluxe and a leader class showed up on my doorstep. *sighs* transformed twice and put in a cupboard...
oh and my sympathies for the cold, the spring summer colds this year seem to be most unpleasant, mine had me bedridden for 3 days and then lingered in a coughy sniffly headachy kind of way for a couple weeks!
and thanks Shockprowl ;p

Right now I Know what you're talking about! The toy was first released as a six changer as Gigatron in Car Robots. That's how I first saw it and that's what my mind calls it. Similarly RID Optimus is Super Fire Convoy! ("I'm a goldfish, Transform!") The toy is remoulded & repainted to become the white Devil Gigatron which is officially a ten changer. Dave Van Domelen has contempary reviews of both Car Robots versions here. When Car Robots became RID Devil Gigatron was repainted to black as Megatron. His instructions have just 6 modes but I believe the tabs are there to make the other 4 new ones. RID Galvatron is effectively a western release of Devil Gigatron that never made it to the UK. I've never owned a wetsern version and really should get one because it's the only RID toy I have no review of. As Glaug mentions (and I didn't know) there's an unreleased Botcon Megatron of this toy in red and the mould was modified to produce Botcon 2005 Megatron.

thanks for putting in the link That's OK, now we all know what we're talking about! The bit that really threw me was Glaug's unreleased Botcon version as I didn't know about that and I did know there's an unreleased Dragon Megatron (in green?)

yeah im looking forward to giant hand mode! now i have to dig up my g1 megs for it to hold! plus i like goofing off with fan modes and frequently mistransform my transformers to suit my aesthetic tastes. so this guy should be perfect for me. i just love the bot mode.

The Botcon Megatron repaint of Galvatron/Devil Gigatron was not green. It was ment to be red. No actual toy was made, nor do I think any actual mock ups exist. It was intended to be post BM, Megatron revived as a Transmetal 3.

It was intended to be post BM, Megatron revived as a Transmetal 3. The Green was refering to a version of the TM2 toy that I have a recollection of seeing. I can find a KO in those colours but no ref to the real thing. Would have been around the time of the Botcon wreckers when there were all sorts of weird colour variations escaping.
